My wife, Jessica, is home and in bed. The folks at the ER were not able to give us any firm answers but they performed a CT scan on her chest with an iodine IV (don't know the name). This test showed no clot and the doctor ruled that out completely.

So, we will wait for the results of the blood work that they ran. She is just worn out mentally and physically and that probably contributed to her blood pressure. That and the fact that the family physician hinted that she might be pregnant (the test came back negative).

It's amazing how stressful it is to be told that "you need to go to the ER now!".

Wow - it sounds like you both need some rest after today! I hope all of the tests come back normal and that she is able to bounce back quickly.

How about brasilian churrasco -- Brasilia Grill in the Ironbound is the place to go!

Do transcon crews ever do an immediate turn (well, after a 1:40 layover) back to EWR?

Mackieman May 28, 2009 9:27 pm

Glad Jessica is ok, Hartmann. That's good news.

In other news, the cascade of  never seems to stop. I made a unilateral decision today to change our LAN configuration here in the office. We have three bonded T1 circuits for data and VoIP that terminate into a Cisco box. Our provider's web interface to make these changes since they don't release Cisco passwords to dirty end users like me caused the router to bork and completely wipe our config. Four hours and three techs later I finally got our servers, phones, and the rest of the local network back online.

The kicker: I'm not in IT.

It's time to go home and spend time with the wife. Night, Box.

Wouldn't back to back transcons time out a cockpit crew?

Great news indeed. We were all very worried and most relieved when we heard of your Twitter post.

Heh, this is the kind of stuff I do for a living. Been playing with Cisco gear for the last 12 years. There's ways around those passwords, and it's always nice to have a copy of the config file hiding somewhere when they bork the config. ;)

@Hartmann, glad to hear all is ok. :)

I hope you both have a good night sleep. I'm very happy there was no clot and I hope they get you some answers quickly. If you happen to need a neurologist, let me know - I know of a good one in Sugarland though he is lacking in bedside manner. He's a good doctor so his lack of personality doesn't really matter. Wishing her a very quick recovery!

Atlantic City is a prime example of that. There are redeeming features to the city with the recent development, but ignorance on the part of the business community and corruption in government will ultimately destroy whatever good could come from Atlantic City. Thanks for the good wishes. ^

I am so happy Plus1 lived there prior to our life together :p

A clip on Comcrap.net says that Jon and Kate (or, maybe more accurately, Kate has ordered Jon) want to be legally separated by July 15th, and that he's going for half of their estimated $10MM that they've built up from the show. Popcorn, please? Courtroom 1. Thanks.

That's a bold statement but I defer to the judgment of those more proximal to EWR.

If you're counting politics, Illinois could give us a good run for the money! :D :D :D

But they seem so happy together

I've watched all of five minutes of them but I get US magazine and they have a hard on for Kate. I believe she's been on the cover four weeks in a row.

It was actually the statement of the fabulous Mrs. Xyzzy -- but I posted it and I completely agree with her.

I hope the judge makes them set up trusts, or some kind of vehicle, for the kids' benefit I can't imagine that either J or K know how to really manage that kind of money well enough to assure that it will be there when the kids need it. We'll see.
