You guys are so 'pc'! I feel fortunate to live in a nice area, with excellent schools, yet close enough to to NYC & EWR. We all have some choice in whether to live in NJ or not! It's not perfect, but there are positives (like no sales tax on clothes & shoes!) You have to take the bad w/the good!

Don't forget LA, also known in the Box as the state of "taking away my exit row seat" and "refusing to process my upgrade".

This statement is just wrong on so many levels yet probably accurate.

They seem to be the only people that have a hard on for her. </zing>

I hope the judge makes them set up trusts, or some kind of vehicle, for the kids' benefit I can't imagine that either J or K know how to really manage that kind of money well enough to assure that it will be there when the kids need it. We'll see.

Kate knows how to manage money. She gives it to spas.

My wife, Jessica, is home and in bed. The folks at the ER were not able to give us any firm answers but they performed a CT scan on her chest with an iodine IV (don't know the name). This test showed no clot and the doctor ruled that out completely.

So, we will wait for the results of the blood work that they ran. She is just worn out mentally and physically and that probably contributed to her blood pressure. That and the fact that the family physician hinted that she might be pregnant (the test came back negative).

It's amazing how stressful it is to be told that "you need to go to the ER now!".

Having been through a similar experience with my partner just a couple of weeks ago, I know how you feel. Hang in there, and both of you get some rest tonight. I'm glad to hear nothing serious showed up in the tests they ran; hopefully this will turn out to be nothing serious and she'll be feeling much better quickly.

Oh, there are definitely positives to be had. I love that I'm two hours from NYC, an hour from Philly, and ~three from DC. I am unwavering in my belief that most of the official structure here needs to be detonated and redone.

If it were detonated, how would contracts be issued to redo?

Louisiana ranks up there as well. It's just a far more low budget form of corruption, since there's not much money there to go after.

Still not getting what the attraction to that mess is, or why anyone should really care, besides that couple, their kids, and their family members and close friends.

The one non-corrupt guy would be left behind to do that.

You said it yourself. It's like one of those wintertime highway 93-car pileups, or any NASCAR race. The appeal is that it is a mess.

See -- we agree!

I love watching shows like "World's Dumbest Criminals". There was one with some kids trying to rob a convenience store. However, the convenience store has a hidden wall that comes out of the counter, rising to the ceiling, at the push of a button. And fast! Kid trying to jump the counter gets hit in the throat by a wall coming from nowhere.

Sad but true. Early morning; good night Box!

On that level, yes. The sad part is that partisanship almost doesn't matter. Both sides of the aisle have screwed this place up in their own ways.
