A Dunkin' in a faraway land is home away from home. It's like a little piece of Quincy in the middle of the Andes (or Acropolis)

TheCanuck and I always seem to happen upon a Dunkin'. In ATH we found what we called "AcropalDunkin," which was a two story marble shrine to Dunkin' goodness. It's near Marina Zea if anyone wants to go on the Dunkin' grail tour.

Last year we saw a "Dunkin' Coffee" in BCN. That was its actual name. I believe it was on the West side of La Ramblas, near the market.

Birds, flowers,, tappas, and Dunkin'. @:-)

i have been to that dunkin in bcn, they have only small coffee.

Just lost all internet, phone, and TV so I'm stuck doing everything on my 1/2 charged PDA. Thanks a lot Comcast! They'd better get this up and running soon.

Lost power for about 5-7 min. -- probably due to everyone cranking up their A/C around here! It's brutal out there!

Man, now that I'm thinking about how much my life revolves around Donuts I just remembered that the Canuck and I were presented with a Dunkin' award at a Nets game last year.

Ha.

It was brutal here yesterday, then the temp dropped like 20 degrees in an hour this morning when the rain started.

Lovely out here in west central texas, and for the first time in 2-3 months the wind is not 20-60mph steady!

It's the same south of the canal. At least there they make up for quantity with quality. Best DD coffee I ever had...

Further point of clarification - I "happened upon" a Dunkin' factory in SYR and they showed me around. It wasn't very magical.

Yes, of course, a 'happy coincidence.'

Your story is quite thin at this point, belynchDunkinInsider. I got my (good) eye on you.

That makes more sense than Israel renaming Swine Flu to Mexican Flu. How  can you get? Getting swine flu has nothing to do with eating pork!

Some competition for the  of the day...

Apparently the White House is planning on requesting $1.5 billion to combat the pig flu.

Got my PC, cable modem, and router on a UPS so I'm ok for a 10 minute blackout. Of course a Comcast  still puts me out of comission.

I can watch TV, be online, watch DVR even.....all for about 3 hours.

My house has so much battery backup sometimes just a minor thing at night makes the entire house go "beep"

$900M was excised from the Stimulus that was supposed to be directed to the CDC to fund pandemic prevention at the insistence of Senator Susan Collins of Maine (to secure her necessary vote). Unfortunately, this legislative maneuver has left the CDC seriously underfunded (at a time when it was already chronically underfunded for pandemic prevention). I'm actually in favor of the government making up any funding shortfall (there are numerous articles dating back years relating to under-funding of pandemic prevention programs in this country). Even if much of the proposed appropriation might be too little to late in this case, it surely couldn't hurt, and it would no doubt assist in preparedness for future pandemics.

Balancing the Federal deficit is a laudable goal, and I hope we get there post-haste. However, sometimes it is better to address an immediate and potentially dire problem at the expense of another, less-pressing concern.
