Regarding doing things on vacation vs. relaxing. CM, I agree with you that I hate doing things I can do at home while I'm on vacation, but I run myself so ragged during my "real" life, sometimes just napping on a beach is bliss. When we do our usual 2 week bonanza in August I usually do 4 days site-seeing/cultural then 4 days beach then 4 days site-seeing. It's a nice way to package up a long vacation.
