ALCO = Can you access the International First Lounge while flying United Airlines on Premium Service First Class.

+100

Went hiking up north a bit this morning and then walked around the village of Lake George. This sight reminded me of The Box.

Have I ever mentioned that I don't use my UA status? The last time I suffered the indignity was in November.

Cmike, I bought your A300, and slapped it on an alliance route.

When in the FLL/PBI area, sure -- if you need luggage repaired or just want to see what they have. I don't think it's worth going far out of your way to go, though.

The answer to that question is yes (in JFK, SFO, and LAX).

Like any real factory outlet, you can't go to Travelpro looking for something specific. They might not have that exact item for months (or never again). When you go, you take what they have that you may need.

And I don't understand the part about used and new bags. All of the bags that Franny or I bought there (and there have been a couple of dozen) were patently new when I took them out of the place. On many of them I was unable even to find the second.

My Amtrak train is running 25 minutes late. Good thing my flight does not depart for another two hours.

CO Pays me to go the Freddies!!!

Well kinda!!!

I booked my Freddie Flights OKC-IAH-PBI and then FLL-IAH-OKC. I was looking at my OKC flight this week nad it looked full and I wasnt too worried about it as I really couldnt take a true bump as I need to be home to work. SO I go about my layover as normal and when I get to the gate I notice that the agent is trying to re-route someone on a bump. She is unable to do the bump for the person. He is our dialogue:

Me: Do you still need volunteers?
Agent: Yes, one.
ME: How much?
Agent: $400
Me: can you get me to OKC today?
Agent: No
Me: what about TUL?
Agent: Yes
Me: I said I will be your volunteer as long as I can get a car rental
Agent: OK

I move off the counter and call Avis and get a rate of 22.99 a day. In the mean time someone else comes up and ask about the bump, agent say that gentleman (AKA me) is the one I need, if he can't I will let you know. I secure my rental and the agent walks me to the service desk in the ERJ Terminal. Tells the agent to put me on the IAH-TUL leaving 15 mins later. I then joke with both agents about uping the voucher to cover the car rental. Don't get the 65 but do get a $8 food voucher for the 15 minutes in delay I will end up with. :) I leave the service counter walk to the opposite end of the ERJ Terminal and wait 5 minutes and get on my plane.

I was planning on going to the city with a friend tomorrow and now I have an extra reason to go. :)

Not a bad return on investment. $60 car rental (If I return after 11:11 am) for a $400 CO voucher!

Well I guess I will now go to work although I made more from my CO deal than I will tonight. :)

Thank goodness for that. I have never been in the Red Carpet Club in any of those places and, from my experiences at some of the others, have no real desire to do so. However, those International Lounges IMO do pass muster.
