If there is enough cork left, sometimes you can still grab enough of it to pull it out. Just turn the corkscrew until the end is actually below the bottom of the cork. This will usually give you enough to pull the cork out with a lot more effort than normal.

If you don't have enough of the cork left to grab, push it in and filter the wine in to a decanter.

Also, make sure you store your bottles on their sides and at a slight angle towards the cork to help prevent them from drying out.

I'll ask a related wine question. How do I get a stuck stopper out of a glass decanter? It was not completely dried the last time I used it and that allowed the stopper to get stuck. I've tried heating the bottom in hot water while cooling the top with ice. I was able to turn the top but I was not able to extract it. I'm thinking of taking it on our mileage run on Saturday. Perhaps the pressure change will cause the stopper to pop out. Does anyone have any thoughts?

You got it, that was my problem. My only cool dark place around, isn't too conductive to being on the side, guess I will make a rack.

Back up and running

Well everything's back up now with less than an hour of down-time. Kudos to Comcast's repair people for their quick response!

Further point of clarification - I "happened upon" a Dunkin' factory in SYR and they showed me around. It wasn't very magical.

ETA -- the "safe for family" version of how the Canuck and I met involves a Krispy Kreme. Man. I had no idea my life was so inter-twined with do(-)nuts.

There are Dunkins all over S. America. I almost see more of them than Starbucks... Just like home, only w/better coffee.

Those look quite small.

TheCanuck and I always seem to happen upon a Dunkin'. In ATH we found what we called "AcropalDunkin," which was a two story marble shrine to Dunkin' goodness. It's near Marina Zea if anyone wants to go on the Dunkin' grail tour.

Last year we saw a "Dunkin' Coffee" in BCN. That was its actual name. I believe it was on the West side of La Ramblas, near the market.

Birds, flowers,, tappas, and Dunkin'. @:-)

Hehehe... Yeah, that resulted in me having to run to the break room for some napkins to wipe the iced tea off the keyboard.

If you look close, the rollaways seem to be in the long way. Unless those are very short rollaways, the bins appear to be about the same size as the outer 767 bins.
