I have the travel bug in me now. There is a convention in NYC the second weekend of Nov. that I really want to go to. I was lookiing at flights and thinking I would do a trip with a stop in DTW and a helicopter on the way out of NYC. Give me a chance to see the DTW WCs I hear so much about, fly to EWR in a chopter and a few new lines on the FLight Memory. I am also looking at doing a flight in a B-17 the week before on my B-Day. That would just make the week complete!

Are you coming to town for the Hotel/Motel Restaurant Show?

I would go every year if I could, but those two weeks are the worst two weeks in Atlantic City that are not in the summer, with the NJ Teachers Convention followed right after by the NJ League of Municipalities. Time off during those two weeks is pretty much verboten. I last went in 2003, and would love to go again, but it probably won't be until after I get a job outside of AC.

And the TSA plans to intrude further into my life... :td:

I take a private jet only a couple of times a year but my bet would be on this proposal really screwing up private aviation, something I am heavily involved in.

Yeah...the TS/S folks are in their usual huff on this one. Seems that most folks over there figure it'll get shot down since too many rich/influential people fly private. I'll be interested to see how it plays out.

Yeah that show can get kind of freaky. I've watched it a few times and seen things I really never needed to see. There are people who have some very strange fetishes out there.

Why do I torture myself with flights before 7:00 AM?

And why don't the gate agents at BTR understand elite upgrades? I know they only have to deal with a single mainline flight every day, but seriously, I have my doubts that the four battlefield upgrades (myself included) on that flight this morning wouldn't have happened at all had I not pushed the issue with the gate agent. He was perfectly fine letting first class go out with four empty seats until I asked about it. Even then he insisted first class was full and there was nobody on the standby list, saying that my boarding pass that said "Added to first class standby list" was wrong and that he didn't know what I was looking at on my BlackBerry (the PDA website) but there was nobody standing by for first class.

I ended up boarding and sitting in 14F, only to see myself get upgraded a few seconds later on the PDA website. So then I fought my way back up front to 2E.

That's me this morning.

Thank goodness for the iPod's ability to drain out the obnoxious group of late 20-something year-old girls at the IAH E PC bar who are already drunk (and were drunk when I walked in here at 7:50 AM this morning). My head was already hurting before I encountered them. I don't think I can handle drunk girl giggles this morning.

I can assure you the CO staff in LFT are even worse. No EUAs to fret over, as they don't have mainline, but one of the LFT check-in desk agents is the most unprofessional CO staff member I have ever dealt with. The only time I have called WE(Don't)Care to complain about a staff interaction was due to LFT.

Oh man, I so wish I was drunk this morning.

I think finding competent and intelligent employees in southern Louisiana is a bit of a challenge at times.
