As of Oct. 26, 2015 it no longer seems possible to access the old version of the website.

Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:

Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

I keep getting marketing banners or buttons suggesting I upgrade to BusinessFirst - when I'm already booked in BusinessFirst.

It could be worse...I've been getting banners to suggest I claim my EconomyPlus seat when I'm already ticketed and seated in First for as long as I can recall

Works with IE.

I am tired of submitting feedback on this POS.
I'm using Firefox 43.0.4 and the homepage works fine.

Folks, remember, just because you see an issue, it doesn't mean everyone sees the same issue.

Who's going to start the campaign to bring back the previous UA.com? Or at least maintain support for it at ual.com like they did for a period of time.
While it's never fun to hear you're an outlier, I think we have to realize that the site must be meeting its financial and usability goals, or it would in fact have been abandoned. I personally like the new site, though I've encountered my share of bugs when trying to construct moderately complex itineraries.

But again, any individual user can think a site is garbage -- but if users broadly speaking prefer it, and overall revenue is meeting or exceeding goals, there's no reason for UA to roll back the clock.

And I am using Firefox 43.0.4 as well.

Never insinuated that everyone was seeing it. In fact, I was sure it was not wide-spread as certainly others would be posting about it. But the tiles are still stupid, whether they work for you or not. And the site is crappy.

So what? The point of this thread is to post experiences. The fact that yours is different is no reason to put down previous posters.

UA has made innumerable poor business decisions over the years. Just because they've stuck to this one doesn't say anything about whether the new site is customer-acceptable.

I absolutely detest the new site but am forced to use it because there's no other way to access reservations and account info, check for R space, etc.

I didn't "put down" anyone, and frankly I resent the implication that I did. My point was to remind everyone else reading the thread that individual bug reports need to be corroborated before they have any value.

What I find most unfortunate is the barrage of angry rhetoric suggesting the site is somehow an utter failure. I've redesigned enough websites to know that heavy users are always the most difficult group to please, because they usually prefer things to stay exactly the way they were. On the whole I think UA has done a good job modernizing the site for casual users while retaining most of the functionality that expert users require.

Is it truly cutting-edge, like, say, Virgin America or Norwegian Air's site? Of course not. Do I wish they'd update the rest of the site to match the booking engine? Obviously. But the constant stream of sneering negativity from FT is unwarranted.

Just changing the award search parameters on the calendar screen and then clicking on a different date on the calendar causes an error 100% of the time.

That makes me a power user?

It's even worse if you're trying to book a paid flight, particularly if you're searching by fare class. If you want to change any of your search parameters after viewing outbound flights it takes two clicks to get back to the "advanced search" screen and then you have to re-enter most of the search criteria.

These exact reasons have made it difficult for me to buy tickets.

Travel Insurance Question

Is there any way to eliminate the travel insurance questions page? I find the time it takes to purchase a ticket to be much more cumbersome than the old site.

My IPad, Mac Will not Show Award Flights

I have had a problem for sometime with my IPad, and Mac showing Award availability. I put in the airports and the date, make sure all the boxes are filled correctly, pick Award and have it search. It comes up with the calendar with the various color codes, but does not show any flights even on the dates where the codes say there are flights. It also does not give me the "edit" button. Does anyone else have this problem?

I don't think that's new to the new site though I'll admit I've gotten a little foggy on the flow of the old site... in any event, you can just ignore the question and proceed. I've never affirmatively accepted nor declined insurance, I just pretend that the question wasn't asked and the website (new or old) never seemed to mind.

The result of this "power user" trying to book a simple round trip between DAY and EWR.

Oh, and of course there is no easy link to get back to flight search. Have to click the logo to go back to the main home screen.

This website is awful.

Go back from what page? Depending on the page of the booking process you are on, there's edit search links, revise flight links, or even the back button - which thankfully works on this website. I haven't found a page yet where none of those three options apply.
