I didn't "put down" anyone, and frankly I resent the implication that I did. My point was to remind everyone else reading the thread that individual bug reports need to be corroborated before they have any value.
What I find most unfortunate is the barrage of angry rhetoric suggesting the site is somehow an utter failure. I've redesigned enough websites to know that
heavy users are always the most difficult group to please, because they usually prefer things to stay exactly the way they were. On the whole I think UA has done a good job modernizing the site for casual users while retaining most of the functionality that expert users require.
Is it truly cutting-edge, like, say, Virgin America or Norwegian Air's site? Of course not. Do I wish they'd update the rest of the site to match the booking engine? Obviously. But the constant stream of sneering negativity from FT is unwarranted.
