As of Oct. 26, 2015 it no longer seems possible to access the old version of the website.

Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:

Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

Just logged in to my account and was greeted with a message about "enhanced security" and then was prompted to answer 5 security questions. Interestingly the site now remembers me.

It has gotten very glitchy in the past week or so. On many of my displays, it doesn't even indicate when operated by one of their UAX airlines.

Sometimes it is blank. Sometimes it just says "Operating Carrier" with no further clarification.

after updating to these new "enhanced security settings" the site refuses to remember me or keep me signed in. cannot sign in to search flights in expert mode and each area of the site appears to require a separate sign-in. anyone else having problems signing in and remaining signed in even for the same session?

This glitch and others which result in turning away potential customers is really bad. The reason for the website is to sell tickets. I guess if all your flights are full this isn't a problem. But just in case they aren't, how many low cost upgrades do you have to sell to make up for a ticket on that flight not sold. Especially given that the trend is most people traveling on planes are not frequent flyers looking for an easy to book low cost flight.

Unfortunately the number of lost flights due to glitches is uncountable and the revenue generated by TODs is.

Angry New .com problem w booking

I'm already NOT a fan of the new United.com. Now I'm even less so. I have 1 RPU and 5 GPU; it DOES still say this on the main page of my account. However, I've been in the site a lot the last couple of days (fun getting in today, of course NOT). The new "advanced" feature to see possible UG before purchase- I've been applying them, but NOT buying tickets. Thus when I went today to try to buy and UG, I only had MPU available!!! System didn't recognize the RPU, GPU that agents and I can still see I have!!! .com person who tried to help me a little while ago is going to tell the programmers about the glitch! Yes, I've logged out and logged back in, and still cannot apply RPU or GPU to any tickets I'm looking at..
Not a happy camper here!!!
Anyone else encounter this???

You said agents could see the RPU and GPUs you have. So you called United? Did you ask the phone agent to apply them for you?

I had this happen to me last week. I had been looking for GPU-upgradeable flights the week before and ID'd some dates. I went back in to check and played around for awhile and had no problem. Then I got the same as you, no instruments listed on the upgrade list, even though I could see them on the top of the page. I logged back in. It did not get fixed. Since I wasn't going to book that day I just gave it up and added it to the list of website issues. You can still look for the W fares, book and then once ticketed go in and apply the GPUs via the reservation.

Today I went to log in and it doesn't recognize my MP number and PIN. I entered the security questions yesterday and that must have thrown something off. So now I can't even log in to my account. Their site is really a pain!

Yep. Cannot get sign-in to stick between login and booking engine, and the engine dies as soon as I select one segment of an itinerary. Do they test changes at all before making them live?

I've had this problem several times, only fix for it was completely closing out my browser and clearing the cache.

Yup, me too. Have to login 2, sometimes 3 times, to check existing reservations or new one. Using FireFox and I have cleared the cache a couple times.
Also, I frequently get an error when searching for another date. Very cumbersome.

When searching for another date, ual.bomb blows up with an error message.

This is just awful.

Can we write to CEO Oscar? UA IT team should be fired.

The site is getting worse, not better.

Unbelievably slow. Obvious errors, such as not returning flexible or business fares when the Y and J cabins (and fare buckets) are wide open.

Everyone note that the new website security "issue" is being discussed in a separate thread. United Initiates New MP Account Security.

Saver&Standard Economy Awards combined--Why not the other Cabins>

When displaying award fares Saver and Standard awards are now viewed in the same column with lowest miles award being displayed.

Any reason the other cabins shouldn't be awarded in the same manner?

It's not a question of being awarded, it's just a display question. I personally like that the the saver J/F awards are in a separate column.

Mine is just not let me select flights today. Rather tedious.
