Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:

Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

On a RT itinerary I was looking at earlier today (two legs on AC metal, two legs on UA metal), UA.com did not want to show me the itinerary I wanted unless I listed each leg separately using multi-city, and even then listed it for $1900 with two legs in first, while Orbitz listed it for $1100. (AC's website would not even show one of the UA legs.) I find that pretty annoying, but also a lesson to always check ITA and Orbitz or Kayak.

Tried to buy a ticket this morning.
After selecting flights, did not allow me to choose E+ seats. Though on the bottom of the page it says "Economy plus - included" (Yes, I qualify for free E+ seats on UA).

lets me select E- seats.

Whatever.
Will try buying it later...

Of course, I can buy now and call in for the seats. Not in the mood to call UA.

Most of us will lose our jobs if we produce such an error-prone product.

I encountered the same bug this afternoon. You can always call in and get seat assignments.

Hallelujah! The website finally remembers me. I hope it's permanent and not another glitch.

Edited to add: This was short-lived. It quit remembering me a couple of days later. Sigh.

Well I was able to successfully book my first flight on the new site with no issues (that I know of yet, all ticketed) and it all went smoothly. Admittedly it was a simple RT LHR-SFO-LHR but so far so good.

"Change flights" still does not work on most of my reservations. I am getting tired of calling in, and to be honest am not convinced I am getting accurate information since it does not seem to match up to the prices I see if I were to book the itinerary as a new flight online.

I had a situation like this with a discrepancy between the change-flights price and a new itinerary recently. I think what is broken is the change flights, which as far as I can tell is still from the old Web site. The TA on the phone told me to book the new itinerary and select cash payment. She then asked me for the reservation number of this dummy booking so she could confirm the price, which she then applied to the flight change.

Update Passport info

I could swear that there used to be a button for adding passports when you went to the View All Travelers link under Profile, but I cannot find any link to use to update my passport info. Anyone know where it is?

I was trying to book a flight on UA.com last night and had all kinds of issues.
1) When conducting an award search, clicking a different date on the calendar would result in a "we were not able to conduct your search request" error message. This was not a complicated itinerary or anything (DEN-EWR)... Tried to do it both as a one-way and as a roundtrip search. Very frustrating to have to start from square one every time I changed the date.
2) One of the itineraries that came up was on a 739. The seat map looked like a 739 in Y (with only DEF seats in row 7 and lav at the front of Y), but only showed 2 rows of F. Is this the new F8 739 configuration ?

I hope they get this stuff figured out soon... Very frustrating.

Anyone else running into an issue where only the top portion of the filter functions are visible when on the bottom of the flight-search page??? I'm getting this in both Chrome and Firefox on my Mac. (I'm doing a pretty terrible job of explaining what this looks like, so I attached a pic).

United Search Engine - how can I get a particular routing to show up?

I"m trying to book a multicity flight with a segment from FRA to PDX. I want the FRA-SFO-PDX sequence with FRA-SFO on Lufthansa but the search engine isn't showing rather it is only routing through ORD. I know the FRA-SFO flight is there, but how can I get it to appear? Thanks

If this is an award you can try to look at each segment and call. If a paid ticket might insert flights/routing on Hipmunk. (or try Google Flights and see if lucky).

specify a multi city trip with SFO as the intermediate and also set to non-stop
