Under the "Aircraft" tab, all currently existing routes serviced by the new 773 (SFO-HKG, EWR-TLV and SFO-NRT are listed) are listed as well as (yet to be converted) 763 and 772 types. For the 763 the listed starting date is "Fall 2017." For the 772 the webpage states "Winter 2017," which sounds optimistic to me as it sounds more like 4th quarter of 2017 than the previously announced first quarter of 2018. Zodiac's output of Polaris seats for all three aircraft types must be ultra smooth by now, if United wants to stick with its predictions. Can't wait to see the first converted 763 in mid July...

Dear XXXXX:
No announcement has been made to let us know when additional United
Polaris lounges will be opening. We are still renovating some of the
locations. Our United Premium Cabin Lounges page on our website will be
updated once the dates are announced. I've included the link for you
below.

This does not preclude any rumors from being true.

Just went through and read the link and see that now. Not sure why Troopsers included it in the “details” as it’s not part of the lounge.

That's what this report implies:
Another outdoor observation deck for San Francisco International - TravelSkills
(linked from earlier article about polaris lounge)

I always wanted to walk outside of the locked doors at the end of G. Glad they are making it happen.

not the same variety and breadth of liquor is what i meant and should have said.

lh first lounge is far better than polaris
but polaris is far better than any senator lounge
and definitely better than any business class lounge of those asian and eu carriers listed..and tbh the lhr and hkg united clubs are better than sq nh oz os lh business class lounges

i been to polaris twice at ord, once very early in the am in from gru, another in the early pm during peak. yes the latter times was crowded but i enjoyed it both times. i get the whole forward planning thing and how crowds never get better but it's still better than being outside in the glorified bus station

So you think $3-4K is an expensive fare and that should be the reason for access?

Sorry - someone who buys a $3-4K United business class ticket to/from Colombia WILL be sent to the UC. It’s not a front cabin marketed as Polaris.

Can someone tell me why LAX is getting priority over IAD for a Polaris lounge? LAX already has a very nice UC, IAD is garbage for UA lounges. I would have thought IAD has more premium passengers than LAX, but I guess the ultra long hauls (SIN, SYD, MEL) give LAX priority?

Competition. At LAX UA competes with the other two legacies directly who also have hubs. And AA already has FL and FFD open (and has for awhile).

IAD is a captive hub and UA / *A dominates the international direct flight market. It's the same reason why I believe PHL will be one of (if not the) last FL to open; and the same reason that DFW, which is AA's biggest hub, will have it's FL open after JFK, LAX, ORD, MIA
