With Polaris becoming live, it seems time to create a few separate threads

Polaris lounge pics from this morning. Anyone else here?

They gave me a brief tour when I got here. Service is pretty good. They have staff bringing around trays of champagne and mimosas.

I didn't see this mentioned before... the cubby seating has white granite pull out desks.

The lounge wine selection that's been pictured looks balanced enough that it could last.
  • The Prisoner (polarizing but people love it - typically $35-$40 a bottle)
  • Noble 181 cabernet (cheap $15 stuff - they save on this for people who don't think about wine)
  • Daou cabernet (about $25 a bottle - very good for a free lounge wine)

Basically a notch up from the free stuff at the Amex lounges.

As for the onboard wine looking for reports, but saw pic from a press event that showed something more on par with Delta (a $20+ bottle mixed in with the usual $15 stuff)

Taft Street Chardonnay (about $20)
Sebastian Riffault Sancerre (about $20)
Mastroberardino Mastro Greco (about $15)

Banshee Cabernet (about $35 - surprising if avail in biz)
Dobbes Wines by Joe Pinot (about $15)
Hahn GSM (about $15)

There will be 6 wines boarded - 2 of each type that are 'favorites' and 1 that is 'emerging'

Sounds about right. I got here at 0800 and there were far more employees than passengers.

Thanks for this important information. The wines served on board and especially the free rock-gut ones in the lounges have been pathetic. Nice to see some reasonably good wines being offered.

Hope it's by 12/16 when my wife and I are on our way to Christmas in Oslo.

Nice wine list, though interesting that they don't have a single French red or white (other than the Champagnes). Two Spanish reds and a Malbec. Would like to see a true Rhone red. Great sounding craft cocktails. May need to try a Prospector's Smash!

Wow there are some real gems in there. Weller 12?? That sells on the secondary market for $100+ these days (retails for $30 but virtually impossible to find sadly).

Veuve and Moet Rose are strong bubbles options if they stick too.

Cocktails look well thought out too - they remind me of the UC LHR bar and the cocktails offered at Centurion Lounges

I asked for the date and the chef just (like exactly just now) told me 12/15 is the plan!

Really nice selection of whiskies for a club - I'm used to Jack and Walker Black as the two usual 'upscale' options, but Bulleit 10, WhistlePig, Auchentoshan, Bushmills are all $50+ whiskeys. Patron Silver is interesting, because I feel that is something that most people (whether they enjoy tequila or not) will identify as a 'prestige' label.

I'm supposed to connect through ORD on my way to Asia in January but meeting someone for dinner outside of the airport. Looks like I'll have to rethink that!
