Still great to see a PL opening at this point. But that restaurant / dining room area looks way too "open" and noise is going to carry easily. The ORD (I believe) PL had dividers between booths and it was far more personal and quiet.

Stunning! The wainscoting on the ceiling in the dining room looks especially unique and gives off huge DC vibes.

Thanks for sharing. Now I *especially* can't wait for my ex-IAD Polaris flight on the 30th.

Though I wouldn't be in a huge rush. I figure there may be some teething issues when a new lounge first opens, though you don't want to wait so long that they start cutting things

Please take a photo of the menu. Curious how the food will be. hopefully its not all from a gas station (ie EWR)

The burger is still alive! Looks like the beef carpaccio is gone though. Any idea if the Paper Airplane drink is still on the menu?

I find this all quite exciting. Enjoying the PL again with a Polaris Burger + two Paper Planes, then avoiding the onboard catering & service awfulness right now and going right to sleep - I would be very happy and certainly book more trips...

There’s a sneak preview on the Poihts Guy of the Polaris Lounge opening tomorrow at IAD … it looks simply stunning. How great to have a Polaris lounge back open…I’m sure many of this thought it would never happen!

IAD Polaris Live, Questions answered

Just got to lounge. The united agent at checkin told me there was no Polaris lounge open when i asked where it was and told me to go to D8 so it seems employees have not been notified.

Everyone is extremely nice here in the lounge. There are a couple dozen people, but i feel alot of them are from United HQ because they are being very observant.

They dont have most ingredients for their craft cocktail list. It is stuck in transit somewhere. I ordered a cosmo and i saw the bartender make it with grenadine. He has no cranberry so was using what he had to make it pink (it did not taste good). They did go and buy cranberry juice and the bartender went ahead and made me a new one.

I decided it will be a wine or basic cocktail list. Paper plane is gone. An employee (Im assuming management) saw the drink problems and that i switched to wine and brought me over some cheese meat.

These are all teething problems which will go away.

Bartender is warming up, i think there were some nerves and he is making some good drinks. He asked if i wanted some samples of drinks available so he made me some smaller drinks which is awesome (still have to fly).
