The food in LH F yesterday from SFO was fantastic by the way. True that it often disappoints but not this time.
Glad I saved my appetite and ate nothing in Polaris nor in MLL. The restaurant in Polaris was completely full at 130pm.

On a recent visit all of the serving staff in the restaurant were enthusiastic and lovely. Unfortunately the food is beyond poor.Originally Posted by Kacee

I would like to solicit advice from those who experienced both the Polaris lounge and the Centurion Lounge at SFO,
I will be at the airport in the morning around 9. Which is a better lounge to visit from the viewpoint of food option. I don't drink. So drinks are not counted here.
I would appreciate your feedback.

The CL has the better buffet than PL but PL has sit-down restaurant and CL does not. Both can be crowded depending on the time, CL is more driving by domestic flights and 9AM toward the end of the morning peak, PL is more crowded in the later morning or afternoon . CL is a little closer to the domestic gates, PL to the international gates.Originally Posted by michaelmorio

The food at both is poor, although best CL meal is breakfast. Personally, I'd eat at home/hotel and hang out in Polaris, which is a nicer lounge. YMMV.Originally Posted by michaelmorio

Having recently hit both (that's another story) I agree with the above. I would add I prefer the bar at the PL but that's not your thing here.Originally Posted by michaelmorio

It all comes down to taste. I feel like Centurion generally offers more healthy food with more interesting taste profiles and Polaris is more traditional food, less adventuresome. Though I would pick neither above a mid level restaurant.
At 9am I would definitely pick Polaris, Centurion can get very crowded. I agree that Polaris is a nicer and bigger space, with filtered tarmac views, and the sit down meals are something Centurion doesn't offer.
Why not try both? Or go to one and if it's not meeting your needs, go to the other. They are less than a five minute walk apart.

For all who kindly responded to my call,
Thank you for your feedback. I will try to get to the airport bit early so that I could do the lounge hop from the CL to the PL.
It sounds like there is no clear winner by a large margin here. But it's sad that UA doesn't offer decent food in the Polaris cabin. That's what I read in the other thread about the food service in the cabin.

UA doesn't offer decent food in ANY cabin/class of service, period. Whenever I have to fly UA, I make sure I eat well prior to the flight and bring my own snacks, as the food will invariably be poor and limited. Originally Posted by michaelmorio

And the service will be unpredictable: If you happen to get a friendly, caring, and service-oriented crew (that doesn't dislike their job and/or passengers), consider yourself lucky.

I'd go with Polaris. My experience in Centurion over last 6-9 mo has been that the food is borderline inedible and, depending on time, lounge is jammed. Polaris food isn't great, but depending on the day I'd say better and the restaurant area is definitely better if timing works out for you (e.g., there's not a long wait). Wines at Polaris are definitely better, cocktails probably on par (but not relevant in your case). I'd also give Polaris edge for crowds, though that one is somewhat variable.
