UA doesn't offer decent food in ANY cabin/class of service, period. Whenever I have to fly UA, I make sure I eat well prior to the flight and bring my own snacks, as the food will invariably be poor and limited.
And the service will be unpredictable: If you happen to get a friendly, caring, and service-oriented crew (that doesn't dislike their job and/or passengers), consider yourself lucky.
