Yeah...6+ seems like a slam dunk. I'm booked with ~2 right now which means sitting in the lounge or just wandering around the airport, both of which I'm fine with. I guess the real question is if I should bother making the change if it nets me only a 4 hour layover. I figure we'd only have ~2 hours at most outside of the airport, right? It has been too long since I've been there to remember if that is ever worth bothering with.
And it all may be moot as I'm having trouble finding 2 seats on any of the later flights back to the states, but I'm still working on that. |

About 390,000 people listed their religion as Jedi in the 2001 Census for England and Wales. In Scotland the figure was a reported 14,000. |

You should try to combine GIG with a GRU-JNB-CPT run on SA, if you can spare the vacation time and find award availability on SA (or just earn to your *A account on a Y ticket). I'd really like to do SCL-AKL, GRU-JNB, EZE-CPT, JNB-PER/SYD to round out my Southern Hemisphere lines. :D

After reading CO Insider's reply to the "Denied Companion Upgrade" thread, I'm left wondering about the value of the OLCI and adding a companion to the list.
If I am a Gold and do not split the PNR, my chances for an upgrade 3 days out or at any EUA run are low. However, if I do check-in 2 hours before the flight, I can add my companion to the list. I guess the question becomes, do I want to ensure an upgrade for at least one person or risk not getting an upgrade at all? |
So, Randy Peterson is going to be at that Hyatt Do in Los Angeles? I wonder if he would be interesting in discussing Pandy's recent exploits?

You're really not helping. Though, the GRU-JNB-CPT would be some cool lines to be had. I keep thinking I'm going to a US-FRA-EZE run to get some other weird lines. :)

IMO, it's always worth having at least one of you up front. The only benefit to OLCI without a split PNR at +2 hours is you can add your own companion. I'd rather splt the PNR, get one upgrade and talk to an agent to have my companion added to the list.

Well, if you do not want the stress of leaving the airport, at least it is a good one to hang around.

Just a guest visitor to the Box (...hope that is allowed!) Love all the banter here! Such an escape from some of the all-too-serious threads out there!
Morning, Box. |

I have thought about the GRU-JNB route for years, or maybe one of EK's routes to S. America.
