CAUTION: In February 2019, American Airlines changed the coding of gift card transactions. Although there are a few successful data points since, in general, Gift Card purchases are now explicitly identified, and no longer reimbursed by American Express.
Reminder: you must enroll and select your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase. http://www.americanexpress.com/airlinechoice -or- "Call the number on the back of your Card to select a qualifying airline."
Data Points on automatically reimbursed incidentals since 2017:
Admirals Club Memberships: Admirals Club Passes:
Wifi is provided by one of three third-party providers and is thus not eligible for the incidental credit.
* For items not automatically reimbursed but which are not excluded by Amex, you can try and request manual reimbursement from American Express; however, you may need to wait 14-28 days first.

Yes. Now here's the strange thing - the dashboard used to show up on both Plat and PRG. However, recently, as noted in a similar discussion with another FT member, the dashboard has disappeared from the Plat but is still available on the PRG. But yes, it's under "Membership", "Benefits", and then the airline credit area.
Looks like this (the green semi-circle begins as blue but turns green as you consume the credit):

Hi everyone.
Silly question.
Can I use multiples GC of different values like 2x $100 and $50 towards to one ticket of 500 and pay the rest with my card?
thanks.

Do I need to make separate transactions per gift card in order for it to code correctly for reimbursement?

Even though it's not as bad as Delta (which caps gift card redemptions at 3 per flight purchase), AA still limits you to 8 gift cards per flight purchase. So why limit yourself by buying more smaller gift cards instead of $100 gift cards?

Is this credit per calendar year? I just got my card this month, so theoretically, I can get $200 credit for 2018 and then another $200 for 2019?

Guys...a bit worried here. Just purchased a $100 giftcard and got the following. It appears to be out of Tulsa and the rest of the data points I have seen on here are based out of Dallas. Does anyone have any experience with this getting reimbursed?
