Workaround for Login & "Were sorry, but united.com was unable to complete your request." Problems:

Close United tab, clear browser cache, and delete all United cookies. Instead of logging back in using the home page yellow tile, click on the "Reservations -> Change or view reservations" link, and then login using the "MileagePlus: Sign in or join" link on the upper right of the page.

I have no issues sending my itineraries from work email to gmail and having it auto-added to my Google calendar.

On a slightly separate note, the United.com generated .vcs files not being compatible with Google Calendars is a long-running issue. Apparently, the workaround is to edit the .vcs file directly in Notepad or other plain text editor, change instances of "End" to "END" (case sensitive), save, and then import.

Kacee and others asked "why didn't you just call United and get them to assign the E+ for free" ?

1. I live in Saudi Arabia. There is no local or toll free number for United. Our internet speed is barely equal to dial up so the 800 numbers on VOIP are not an option.

2. I spent about 2 hours trying to get Mrs. Gpicur (Who IS a 1K !!) a Saver Business Class ticket. At the point of choosing a seat, I wanted to complete the transaction without jepordizing the loss of the a seat that took me 2 hours to find and book.

3. If I had known it was as system glitch, I wouldn't have posted it on FT. After all, conspiracy, conjecture and accusations are the hallmark of this board. I still think that UA is doing this to augment revenue. BTW, it has been 12 hours and I have not yet received the automatic acknowledgement email from 1K Voice.

I still can't even book tickets with the new site. Won't show flight details and usually returns errors when I go to flight summary. 3 different computers, 3 different browsers, 3 different operating systems. It's a bug.

Seriously, Old, New, how about we pick one, use it, and then launch the new one. This in the middle stuff is ridiculous.

You don't have to select a seat to get the ticket issued.

I encountered a similar glitch, where at seat selection it wouldn't let me select (wouldn't even let me click on them) E+ seats, but would let me click the regular econ seats. Had to call that one in.

Actually, the best way was suggested in the thread - go into the app and select add to calendar, sorted. Thanks though.

I'd like to see the miles per segment shown again so that I can round up the <500 mile legs and see what I'll really earn. (I've given up on United correctly doing that calculation for me).

Can't find "fare lock" or "book by phone" feature in new look website

With the rollout of the new look United.com website (at least for certain pages), I cannot find the Fare Lock feature.

Nor can I find the feature that allows you to complete your ticketing by telephone. That feature allows you to place the reservations on Hold, and then gives you a certain amount of time to complete the ticketing by speaking with an agent. In the current, new look website, there is an immediate "speak to agent" button. But no way to hold the itinerary.

issue with travel certificate (certificate value > cost of flight)

I experienced a bug today when booking an international flight with travel certificate. The flight actually costs less than my travel certificate value. After entering certificate, the site gave out right information in cost/deduction; however the booking couldnt proceed further because the site kept on giving error messages for other forms of payment (and the default credit card row was no longer available).

I tried a few times using Firefox and Internet Explorer, but neither worked. Decided to call United, and was on hold hoping to talk with web support, then I tried one more time with Chrome and coincidentally it gave me the old web interface and I was able to complete the booking. It was frustrating as I was searching for an almost last minute flight.

Full Middle Name on Reservations Booked on New Site

I recently noticed that all of my reservations booked on the new web site list my full middle name, instead of just my first name and my middle initial:

<FirstName><MiddleName> <LastName>

instead of

Mr. <FirstName><MiddleInitial> <LastName>

My profile has always listed my full middle name, but it had not appeared on any of my reservations booked on the old site or on my boarding passes. Has anybody else noticed this? I don't think it will affect PreCheck, at least I hope not!

Same thing here, although my full middle is listed on my passport, so I think I'm in the clear for pre-check.

1KVOICE did respond to my complaint about being charged for E+. They agreed it was wrong, refunded the $69 and said they would send me a $100 TC via a future email.

I thought was just me. Since when is SFO-SIN so difficult to search

And other times when the search works, when I click "details" it shows flight numbers without city names
