On a slightly separate note, the United.com generated .vcs files not being compatible with Google Calendars is a long-running issue. Apparently, the workaround is to edit the .vcs file directly in Notepad or other plain text editor, change instances of "End" to "END" (case sensitive), save, and then import.
Actually, the best way was suggested in the thread - go into the app and select add to calendar, sorted. Thanks though.
