Thanks! that was fast. what do you think my chances are to upgrade using eupgrades? I'm an Elite currently... and tomorrow I can request my upgrade. All SE's have already put in their request I'm assuming

if it was R0 at the SE window then they would also be on the WL and ahead of you as an Elite. make sure you checkin at the 24 hour window and make sure you ask for an UG when prompted. Then the crapshoot begins.

Can anyone give any advice on how to install KVS via codeweavers? Have both downloaded already but I can't seem to be able to get it to work

I did look at the FAQ on KVS, and the page on codeweavers' website could be anything but helpful.

Thanks.

6.1.0 does not allow me to search ANA or M&M award availablility - gets disconnected for both, on 2 of my laptops just updated today.

The previous version was working perfectly.

Is it possible to download previous versions/downgrade?

Please try the suggestions at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Errors under ["Error Requesting Data: (Various)" after upgrading to the latest version (previous version worked OK on the same machine)].

If the issue persists, please provide a screenshot (via e-mail).

KVS,

Nice work with OneWorld awards - BA. I was wondering can you characterize how you are getting this availability? Is the data coming back from Executive Club - and as such I'm wondering if you're using some method to 'force' the partnership displays. As you may know if BA has availability when you search it will not typically display the 'select partners' display button.

I'm just looking to understand how to interpret what I'm seeing come back in the tool.

Thanks!

The BA engine does, indeed, have certain limitations, as described at http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Method_Amad...rds_BAOneWorld

At the end of each search, the list of OneWorld cabins, for which availability has been checked, will be listed in the Status Bar. This way, you can quickly switch to the primary OneWorld Award Availability engine [Awards/OneWorld] (or change your search parameters) if necessary.

The route 'overlap' between BA and the carriers that are only supported via the [Awards/BA-OneWorld], but not the [Awards/OneWorld] Method (i.e. JL/RJ/S7) is very minimal.

Find number of cabins on aircraft

Hello, I am new to KVS and appreciate your patience. I have searched for a solution to this question with no luck. For UA, is there a way to see if an aircraft used for a particular flight has 2 or 3 cabins? Specifically, updgrade availability for some flights using 757 aircraft might be listed as NF1 NC0. One might think a one cabin updgrade from coach is not available. But if the aircraft only has a first class cabin, and not a business class cabin, an upgrade is available from coach to first (indicated by "NF1"). If the 757 does have first and business, then you're out of luck. So, when checking availability in this case the key is knowing how many cabins the 757 has. Can KVS show this? Thank you.

Welcome to the KVS Tool!

The Booking Classes shown in Availability displays are indicative of the cabin configuration, i.e. if C/D/Z (Regular) or XC/NC (Award/Upgrade) Booking Classes are shown for a particular flight, then that flight does have a C cabin.

Using your example above, if you see NCx (including NC0), then it's a 3-cabin flight. A 2-cabin flight would have XF/NF/XY/NY. A 1-cabin flight would only show XY/NY.

Thank you for the explanation. I may be doing something wrong, but it appears I am seeing something different. For instance, if you look at UA flight 862 SFO-DEN on May 6, you will see availability of NF1 NC0 on 757 equipment. But if you pull up the seat map either on KVS or on united.com you will see there are only two cabins (even though United.com does say there is both an F and C cabin, and you can click on seating for either F or C, but you will see that the seat rows are the same). The same shows on 319 equipment for UA flight 838 SFO-DFW May 6 (there are no UA 319's with 3 cabins- that I know of anyway!). Thanks again.

Its a documented fact that some of UA's 2 class aircraft also have NC/XC space, these most often have the same flight numbers as international 3 cabin flights, or are a continuation of an international flight

For example, UA862 is also HKG-SFO, UA838 comes from NRT, the SFO-DEN/DTW flights is on a 2 cabin aircraft, but carries C/F award space since its a "direct" international flight

There are a couple threads on this in the UA forum

So just because business class availability shows, this plane will NOT have business class.

Correct, and I have seen instances in the last 24 hours where the NC and NF space did not match on just such a flight. I specifically saw an instance where a 2 class plane had positive NC space but no NF space... It was interesting since I was looking to upgrade and wondered what that call would be like with the ICC :(

As rankourabu had already noted, UA creates 'virtual' C cabins for US domestic sub-segments of those multi-stop flights. The only way to tell the difference between a 'virtual' C cabin and an actual C cabin is by requesting a Seat Map.
