Resolved: [ITA: Awards-Upgrades/X1] Method Issues
 

The issue has been successfully identified and resolved, and an updated version of the KVS Tool is now available for download.

I do not own a laptop, or any other device to connect to the internet.

When I travel abroad, I use the computers in airline lounges, or in hotel business centres.

Right now, one can not access the KVS tool, in this scenario, but one can access the expertflyer tool through this method. I believe that when the KVS tool has web-based access, there may be no areas left that your competitor has any advantages compared to your tool.

KVS has an online companion but functionality is limited

I am waiting for the day when the online companion has the same level of functionality as the icon-accessible KVS tool.

Are there particular tools/methods that you're looking for? There may be other options out there to meet those needs for you, though perhaps they would be better discussed in a different thread as then they wouldn't be KVS-specific.

KVS tool -and web access for those who do not have laptops?
 

I would prefer all KVS functionalities - but the ones I use most often are the following:

1) Star Alliance award seats (including LX).
2) number of upgrade seats available on AC

My point being that the next upgrade for the KVS tool might be that for people such as myself, who do not use laptops (or any other personal communication device), that it would be nice to use and access all functionalities of KVS through PCs of hotel business centres and of airline lounges, when travelling.

The expertflyer.com tool, whatever else you might say when comparing with the KVS tool, does have that ability to access anywhere around the world (and in fact, it advertises that as a major selling point, when comparing with the KVS tool).

It's an issue with the ITN engine, for which a work-around will be implemented in the next update.

"DataSources error" of "Uses miles"
 

Did anyone start to notice this morning the error of ""DataSources Error" -- "Uses miles" when trying to search for Skyteam award? I've already upgraded to 5.4.5 version already...

Thanks for such a quick turnaround. It works now, but I have noticed that many AS availability is not showing up. Tried many dates/routes such as SEA->YVR/SFO/LAX during middle Feb, 2011, in most cases, I got either empty availability or at most some YM (is YS all gone suddently? I saw a bunch last night)

One minor question still, with all the recent updates, which setting/method is now used to pull out "Availability" for MU (China Eastern) route? I am looking for LAX->WUH (during mid Feb, 2011). On the old 5.4.4 KVSTool, I did see there is one route available on MU carrier of LAX->PVG (MU586) -> WUH (MU 2512) (confirmed with itasoftware), but now I am not able to find the leg of PVG->WUH (MU 2512, leaves at 9:10pm), I've tried all methods in the drop down list... but still not able to find it...

This appears to be an issue between MU and the GDSs (and is not related to the update):
