ok ive applied to use this, not really sure if ill know what im doing but hey...desperation has set in.

was due to fly DUB-ORD today on a 20k award, that was cancelled and ive been auto moved to 28th ( a week later).

It totally screws my plans up but if i could get on an earlier flight say friday/saturday i could have my holiday minus a coupla days.

Can anyone using this tool tell me if there would be any spare seats on AA93 for 22/23/24 APril and i could use info to call AA and beg/cry?

If all you're going to do is call and beg anyways does it really matter what the inventory is? Beyond that, are you hoping for reward inventory to miraculously appear on a specific flight via a search tool that queries a source comparable to (albeit not exactly the same as) that which the AA agents have?

The guidance is to call the airline and beg at that point, which it seems you did and it seems that a seat opened up earlier.

All these tools are pretty good for doing research but they do not make things magically appear.

No need to apologize. Actually, you were on the right track with your OP. Please don't let the misguided "guidance" above discourage you.

As many current KVS Tool members will attest to, having access to availability is often invaluable in irregular ops. situations.

Please refer to http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...l#post11971225 for AA-specific info.

Indeed, there's no question that this software paid for itself for me several times over (1) during the February DC snowstorms, (2) during the recent volcanic ash, (3) when I booked my recent oneworld F award.

Is there any information about problems concerning award availabilty with NZ? I canīt find a single seat on all routes.

Agreed. And it's showing F with 0 availability, as opposed to the class being unavailable on long haul routes which of course it is on NZ. It's ANA's site that's doing this, I don't think it has anything to do with KVS. Kind of aggravating actually.

There have, indeed, been reports regarding issues with NZ award availability (incl. availability displayed via the KVS Tool, and availability as seen by agents of other *A member carriers). These problems appear to be on NZ's end ...

1) Are DL Asian segments supposed to show with Apollo/ITN? I seam to only find them with Sabre/GTC and do not know if this is a case of "it is what it is" or I am ignorant here.

Example: DL 296 BKK->NRT Jun 13; V5.4.3/Plat ;

2) On DL Z inventory, I do understand it's not in the tool. My questions are:

A) Any chance in the future (Is it a feed issue, or something you just haven't implemented yet)? This would be the most useful enhancement for us DL captives.

B) Are there any proxy's that people have found to indicate Z has, or might have, gone non-0?

Nice tool by the way. Runs fairly smoothly under Ubuntu/Wine.

At the moment, there are no sources available for DL upgrade data.

Looking at the lowest shown business cabin booking class (i.e. I) should be helpful, since Z would usually be a subset of that class.

That's always great to hear -- enjoy!

Thanks, it was a 5:40AM flight so putting in the time brought it up. I was so hung up on it being an ex-NWA intra-Asian that I didn't think of that. Sorry for the RTFM Q :o

I'll play around with that I hint for guessing when Z gets released. Not perfect, but certainly beats waiting for DL to re-implement the nwa.com award upgrade function.

Can anyone help explain something from KVS availability? Looking at flights for today MSP-BUF, UA shows very little availability. Especially looking at flight UA7640 at 12:26pm.

However, if you look at MSP-ORD, that flight does in fact show availability.

Now granted, there are no flights available from ORD-BUF, which it is showing as 0 correctly, but why show 0's from MSP-ORD on the MSP-BUF search?

My first thought was that maybe if there were not seats on both flights it wouldn't show availability on either of them but that is clearly not the case looking at the combination of UA1581/UA1814 in the first set of data.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I guess at least I know I need to check each segment individually but it seems strange that it would show up this way.

Thanks

I don't know much about the KVS tool, but this seems to be consistent with the way I would expect airline reservation systems to work. On the airline's website, if you're trying to book AAA-BBB-CCC and all of the seats from BBB-CCC are gone, the website would tell you (unless there was a direct option or the search engine finds you an alternate routing) AAA-CCC is unavailable, even if you could get from AAA-BBB.
