I don't know much about the KVS tool, but this seems to be consistent with the way I would expect airline reservation systems to work. On the airline's website, if you're trying to book AAA-BBB-CCC and all of the seats from BBB-CCC are gone, the website would tell you (unless there was a direct option or the search engine finds you an alternate routing) AAA-CCC is unavailable, even if you could get from AAA-BBB.

And, since the KVS lookup for WSPAN is actually querying a public booking engine and displaying the results it makes sense that it behaves similarly.

I am trying to use SkyTeam award availability on KVS tool and it is giving me the following error message. Its been happening since this morning. Perhaps, this has not been reported so far.

--------------------------------

Datasource Error:

"Award Ticket"

If the reason(s) for the above error message are unclear, please visit the www.KVSTool.com to review the latest system status announcements.

Can anyone help explain something from KVS availability? Looking at flights for today MSP-BUF, UA shows very little availability. Especially looking at flight UA7640 at 12:26pm.

However, if you look at MSP-ORD, that flight does in fact show availability.

Now granted, there are no flights available from ORD-BUF, which it is showing as 0 correctly, but why show 0's from MSP-ORD on the MSP-BUF search?

My first thought was that maybe if there were not seats on both flights it wouldn't show availability on either of them but that is clearly not the case looking at the combination of UA1581/UA1814 in the first set of data.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I guess at least I know I need to check each segment individually but it seems strange that it would show up this way.

Thanks

Please refer to http://Help.KVSTool.com/#Factors for an explanation (and ignore the completely irrelevant "response", provided by the previous poster).

What is irrelevant about my response? Is the data not, in fact pulled from a booking engine?

Why are you so quick to simply tell people to RTFM instead of actually answering questions about how your tool works? Moreover, the links you suggest reflect how things work with Amadeus and Galileo, not Worldspan. Do you believe this is a married segments issue or something else?

Other than the fact that it answers a question, which was never asked in the first place? :)

Because no one (other that you) had actually asked such questions. OP's question was regarding varying availability on flight UA 7640.

The core concepts are the same across all systems.

Indeed, it is a married segments issue.

Be sure to upgrade to the latest version (V5.4.4). This will resolve the "Data Source Error" issue.

I'm getting an authentication error with the KVS tool this afternoon. Does the fact that I can't get to www.kvstool.com have anything to do with my problem?

All systems continue to function normally -- perhaps this was a temporary connectivity issue on your end...

Maybe. Might have been a regional thing too. I could not access the web site from either my house, my neighbour's house, nor the public library. All is working at my house now though.

Interesting problem:

I'm trying to renew my subscription. But as I am travelling in the Gulf at the moment, the contribution form page comes up all in Arabic with no obvious way of switching over to English.

Registration delayed by a few days I guess!

Thanks. Changed it. It's not obvious and it wasn't "just underneath" but figured it out. All good now.

Viewtrip Galileo/Apollo My Bookings problems?

https://www.viewtrip.com/ has been offline for the past three days. Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

Amadeus says his seat is available

Hubby is booked into 7C on US 734 PHL-MAN on May 13th The Amadeus seat map is still showing his seat available. How come? And, how come Amadeus doesn't show row 6? We did discover it appears on the US website a little more than 24 hrs before check-in. Not there at this time, but we've been following each day's flight and expect it to show up later today.
