Does version 3.0.0 have functionality to find the ticketed-point mileage deductions for MPM fares?

I was not able to determine that yet. If there is a specific fare, for which you know that a TPM deduction exists, pls let me know and I will try to look into it further.

Question
I was checking upgrade awards on UA.
KVS showed me this
[KVS Availability Tool 3.0.1/Platinum - SNT: Awards/StarAlliance/JP-ANA]
Code:

ORD  Chicago O'Hare Int'l IL US [KORD]
LHR  London Heathrow UK [EGLL]
MON  07 Jan 2008 / 1 Seat

Carrier  Flight From Depart    To  Arrive    A/C      Availability
--------- ------ ---- --------- ---- --------- ---- ---- -------------
UA        958    ORD  16:18    LHR  05:55 +1  777      FS-  CS-  YS-
UA        928    ORD  18:05    LHR  07:55 +1  777      FS+  CS-  YS-
UA        938    ORD  21:14    LHR  11:00 +1  777      FS-  CS+  YS-
UA        922    ORD  06:00    LHR  22:00    CHG      FS+  CS-  YS-

while seatcounter told me
UA958 is I9/X1
UA 938 is I9/X0
UA928 is I8/X4

.bomb told me
UA958 is NC9/NF1
UA 938 is NC9/NF0
UA928 is NC8/NF4

so seatcounter and .bomb agree, but KVS doesnt...

There have been numerous reports of both of those sources providing inaccurate data -- see, for example, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=751436

jason8612 Nov 22, 2007 5:16 pm

also is there a way to look up a specific fare basis? like the MA one?

You have to take into account what UA themselves is providing to their own members (showing in .bomb, possibly also SeatCounter, if they have access to UA's database), in stark contrast to the Star Alliance *award* availability, which United offers to *outside* partners, such as NH in this specific case, which is where KVS is linked to, in order to check for award availability.

This is exactly why certain airlines show availability in KVS (ANA Star Alliance award availability), but UA cannot get access to those seats, if the airlines are not providing United with those award seats.

Actually, no. It's UA, which is filtering-out StarNet availability for other carriers (to encourage their members to redeem on UA flights instead).

This feature is not yet publicly available, but I tested it yesterday to get the fare rules for the MA fare: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...&postcount=137
