The purpose of the OC is to provide "Access to basic availability data and seat maps from any web browser" (this is stated on the KVS Tool Homepage).

Because it's a bug in the Microsoft internet engine and has little to do with the Tool itself ...

Does the number of award seats in each class show up, either via the KVS tool, or directly via the ANA web site?

To determine the exact number of award seats available, you need to gradually increase the value in the [Seats:] field. For example, if availability changes from "+" to "-" after increasing the value from 3 to 4, then the number of available award seats is 3.

(This has now also been added to the FAQ).

If you answer is that there is no one access method that shows all revenue classes, and "I" class all at once, what is the simplest way to simultaneously display both sets of classes, from 2 separate access methods?

At the Gold and Platinum levels, you can run multiple instances (copies) of the Tool side-by-side. This technique can also be used in other situations, where access to different data sets may be required, e.g. when comparing availability for different dates, etc.

There is a big sticky on XM of AC planes.

The question is whether the KVS tool can help determine whether a particular plane on a particular route on a particular day has had its cabin upgraded; so that (for example, in business class) one has the business class "suites" with the flat beds; or whether economy has been upgraded so that there is an IFE at each seat?

In most cases, this is possible by comparing the seat maps, shown by the Tool, with the seating charts at http://www.aircanada.com/en/about/fleet/index.html

Please continue to use the KVS Availability Tool main thread for all other issues/questions/comments that do not deal specifically with AC.

As per my question of displaying "I" booking class, and all other revenue classes on AC all at once, are you saying that KVS tool users do not have the ability to do what you did above, for the Galileou ETR tool - having the tool display all the classes on the same line on the same screen?

Correct.

YOW to DEL via USA - how to get combined fares?

Next year (around March) my relatives and my family plan to go to Delhi, India from YOW.

My relatives will want to take the cheapest Star Alliance flights, earning Aeroplan miles. The cheapest from YOW is on AC (as per the sabre dot res access method). However, one can go on LX at about a 45%+ cheaper rate from the Eastern Seaboard cities of USA (again, as per sabre dot res). The question is how to find the cheapest common ticket (let us say on AC to BOS, and then from there on LX to DEL) - with compatible fares. It might be that one can only go via USA on 2 separate tickets - with all the issues of (Non) interlining. How does one go about, using the KVS tool, finding a combined AC/LX itinerary, via the US eastern seaboard city?

My family and I may wish to go an a discounted business class ticket. As per sabre dot res, the cheapest is on an AC ticket (of course, AC does not go all the way to DEL, one has to codeshare part or all of the way from LX/LH Canadian gateway on one of those 2 airlines). I do not see any cheaper discounted business class fares if I wanted to go a Star Alliance carrier via those Eastern Seaboard cities.

However, for a premium, one can go on a more desirable airline - eg SQ - from either the Eastern seaboard, or from one of the US Westcoast cities (the cheapest business class fare from YVR to DEL is almost twice as much from any of the US west coast cities on US). The question again is how to combine, using the KVS tool, an AC fare to SQ's US gateway cities, with the SQ fare from that city, on the same ticket.

It appears that you have already answered that question yourself -- by checking fares from YOW to a series of US cities, and then checking fares from those US cities to DEL.

Information on the combinability of each fare can be found in the [COMBINATIONS] section of the Fare Rules (using Fares/ZUJ). However, given the complexity of those rules, it may be advisable to contact your booking channel (travel agent or the airline) for clarification.

DL and SQ

I'm primarily interested in award (full and upgrade) travel on DL and SQ. I assume KVS is my option? Had an old subscription, but now, when I try to (re)register, am getting a "program cannot display the webpage" screen. Any idea what is going on?

For SQ awards and upgrades, and DL awards: Yes. As for DL upgrades, unfortunately, no.

Sounds like a problem with your web browser (Internet Explorer 7?). Try visiting the KVS Tool Homepage (http://kvs.unrealnetwork.com/Tool/) using a different one ...

Thanks, for the information.

The question is, if fares on different segments are combinable, do either of the 2 sabre access methods allow you to generate a new estimated combined fare.

The question is relevant to aircanada.ca - if I want a combined fare on 2 connecting flights - and I want to get the fare by manually adding the 2 segments - the aircanada.ca/com web site will only add the individual segment fares, not combined them (even for the same booking codes/fare classes). Do either of the 2 sabre methods allow fares from 2 or more different (one-way) segments to be combined, rather than added?

In the KVS Availability Tool (2.9.1) airport database:

PKB Marietta OH US

The real name of the airport is:

Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport

It is located in Parkersburg WV ... which is more akin to the code PKB.

Thanks for the note. I have consulted the official IATA airport codes database and PKB is actually listed twice:
1. Parkersburg Wood County WV US
2. Marietta OH US
And it appears that it recently had a name change to "Mid-Ohio Valley Regional"

So I will try to consolidate all of the above for the upcoming airport database update.
