I was wondering how you brought up those fare rules... try as I could I couldn't get the right fare code to show up in DotRes or ZUJ methods.

As mentioned above, this functionality is currently available for internal use only...

Hi

I'm getting the following error when KVS launches a browser window.

"Firefox can't find the file at /C:/Program Files/KVS Availability Tool/OpenURL.htm."

Any ideas?

Thanks

This indicates a problem with Firefox and/or your system configuration. You may wish to try locating and opening the above-mentioned file using Windows Explorer (by double-clicking it), reinstalling Firefox, or setting a different browser as your default.

Tried locating the file. It does not exist.

Changing the default browser to IE did not do it either.

I presume KVS creates the file on the fly?

Fyi, I'm using Vista

You have to locate the file after requesting a browser-based operation and while the Tool is still running.

This is exactly why certain airlines show availability in KVS (ANA Star Alliance award availability), but UA cannot get access to those seats, if the airlines are not providing United with those award seats.

So, are you saying that KVS gets the award availability from the ANA search engine only? I'm asking because the problem with ANA tool is that they limit redemption availability to 330 days out. However, some airlines such as LH, BMI and NZ let you book awards up to 361 days out as long as the airlines you wish to fly on have released seats already (which NZ and LH most often do).

What I'm asking is how far in advance you can check *Alliance awards on KVS for airlines that do release award seats more in advance than the ANA tool can show?

For example, as of today I can check NZ awards SYD-AKL:

1) On ANA tool up to the 20th of October 2008
2) I get the same availability using Expertflyer up to 20th of October
3) Seatcounter doesn't actually show availability that far in advance (only up to 17th of October)
4) on KVS?

I can check LH awards FRA-CPH :
1) On ANA up to the 20th of October
2) Expertflyer doesn't show LH awards
3) Seatcounter only up to 17th of October
4) on KVS?
5) On LH website up to 19th November (a whole months more!)

Could anyone run a search for me on these two routes on KVS and tell me how far in advance they can see award availability?

AFAIK, KVS gets its allowance directly from the ANA tool i.e. the availability will be identical.

Cheers,

I was not able to determine that yet. If there is a specific fare, for which you know that a TPM deduction exists, pls let me know and I will try to look into it further.

AA: LAX-PAP (Port au Prince, Haiti) $239+ (OS7APRT)
MPM - WH 3666
TPM deduction cities - CHI, DFW, etc

It appears that there is currently no way to obtain TPM deduction info.

It is an industry standard to maintain airline availability data for 330 days out. Most systems are subject to this rule, except for [Awards/OneWorld], which can display availability for up to 353 days in advance.

Did this. The file does not exist in the KVS directory or anywhere on the disk for that matter

That would be very handy

Are you sure that the user account, that you're running the Tool from, has read/write rights to that directory?

YY is the full IATA published fare between 2 cities - I was actually quite surprised (and happy) that these are now showing up. You can usually fly an airline on any routing on such fares.

Cheers

How do you get IATA fares to show up? I only seem to get airline-specific fares when I enter YY.

IATA YY fares were shown transiently at one point, but are not currently supported.
