Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seatA video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Stepping away from redemption availabilities for a moment...
If anyone is booked on QR830 DOH-BKK this Saturday 29th, or QR831 BKK-DOH on Sunday 30th, the aircraft has just been switched from 2-2-2 to Qsuites and all of the previous seat selections have been wiped (many don't exist on both layouts of course). So now's your chance to pic your ideal spot before anyone else notices

Hi all,
A question - most probably I think what the majority of opinion will be - but for a booking for next year, my original A380 flight (to BKK) was somehow (without notification) was moved over to the B777 with Qsuite.
Now I am in a dilemma which to select - the A380 (just to experience it again before it leaves the fleet, and (very small chance, since mine is the dreaded R-fare to upgrade with points to F) or stick to and enjoy the Qsuite (which was the more expensive option when I made my initial booking).....
What's the opinion here? Timing of the flights are just 2 hours apart.
Cheers!

If you decide to change to the A380 again: Let us know how it went. Thus far, I have only heard reports of people getting a free change if the original booking was made on Q-Suite and was then changed to non-Q-Suite, but not vice versa.
And a lot can change until next year including flight times and equipment again. I personally would take the earlier flight as it means two hours less at the airport.

How long is the flight? Day? Night?
8 hours or less? Pick the flight that works best.
8+ hours? I would pick the Q Suites.
If you can get in first, 100% I would choose that. Excellent hard and soft product plus lounge in Doha.

I think I would do the A380 in your situation, I love that plane.
And extra time at DOH to me is always a win. Love that airport and love AS.

Does anyone know what happened to QSuite/business class saver award availability? I am looking through 2024, and literally for ever single day from Jan 2024 until August 2024, there are no QSuite saver awards available from Seattle to Doha?

Hopefully they will come back.
Or a ton of bloggers with the “let me show you how to spend very little money and fly business class virtually for free, while I am doing my best to get you to click through to the credit card sites so I get my referral fee” will have to change their webpages.

Mini Cabin A350-9 Q-suites
What are your experiences? Preferred seats? I assume the last row is to be avoided?
I’ve always traveled in the main cabin but for my next flight it seems I will have to be on the mini cabin (the only seats available are there).

Does anyone have any experience with this and can help?
I booked an award flight from Male to Seattle with Qatar Airways, with a layover in Doha for 85,000 Avios. The issue is that they changed the flight from Male to Doha to much later time, effectively cutting in half the time of my layover, and therefore I cannot spend as much time in the Al Safwa First Lounge with my potential purchased access. My plan is to cancel my whole flight (the only option is the cancel overall Male to Seattle, and cannot cancel only the Male to Doha portion) and rebook the Male to Doha portion in first class.
Here is my question...what are the chances of the Doha to Seattle saver award seat showing up again so I can book it (70,000 Avios)? Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it worth the risk?
