Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

Photos of the new Q Suite can be seen here - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/28007634-post109.html

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Row 1 if there were no lavs upfront I would try it. Thinking of trying Row 1 soon on a 789 since all lavs are behind.
It bothers me a little, but I don’t think too much for me to absolutely be turned off by tables to the left forever. Your comment did make me think about it a bit more so I’m going to be more observant. I love how you know exactly what works for you! Right now, I’m sticking to row 3 priority over row 5. So 3K, 3A, 5K, 5A. I had been considering 1K because then the back of my head won’t be right next to another passenger’s but I want to see first how the lav situation is. Maybe for a future flight if it’s not awful.

This has been one of the reasons why I’ve favored A seats. Also potentially quicker exit. But in all the times I’ve sat in A, I haven’t really received any extra special attention by chief purser or anything so meh, I won’t care for this going forward.

Oh, I forgot about the electronic window darkening thingy. Does it not work as well with direct sunlight? In any case, it typically doesn’t bother me. With regards to sleep position, every position sucks for me on the plane so I’m constantly switching it up so everything sucks

You have to PAY to reserve a quad with 4 pax traveling together?

There is no surcharge for the quads. I assume the poster was on a P fare which requires payment for seat assignment.

I have upcoming flight Sin-doh-yul in Q-Suites in a couple of weeks. When I am looking at my reservation on the QR website, on the DOH-YUL segment my seat selection is showing as confirmed (green check mark) but the first leg SIN-DOH does not, even though the seat is assigned and there is no other seat for me to select. Do I need to do anything here or is this normal?

24 J Seats in A350-1000/A35K - 6 J Rows?

Only 6 rows in A35K? Data from Expert Flyer for QR68 on 2-Sept-2023 FRA-DOH. It should have been 12 rows, am I correct?

I wonder if this applies to all other A35K aircraft from A7-AOA/B/C

Not exactly sure what your question is but there is a 6-row 24 seat configuration in the A7-AO* series.

I consider the 2-2-2 777 J seat better for sleeping than QSuites. I really value not having my legs boxed into a hole and free to move regardless of the sleeping position. I nonetheless recognise it's down to personal preference and I am in the minority. It's an annoying configuration when the other seat is occupied by a stranger, but for a couple it's an excellent product which I personally cherish. So, you'll be very fine!

I also find the 2-2-2 very good to sleep in and a perfectly acceptable solution if you are a couple. We have usually taken the window - more cosy :-)

As your feet are not trapped in a box you can really roll around, which I find I wake less.

Qatar Q-Suite Flight Cancelled

Booked our dream trip to the Maldives for March 2024 with the first leg being IAD-DOH in Q-Suites. Flight was cancelled and was rebooked for the following day automatically in a non Q-Suite aircraft. When calling Qatar they advised they can not assist as it was a BA Avios booking. When calling BA they advised they can only rebook me on flights that have BA award availability open, which none do. Any tips on getting Qatar or BA to budge and put me on the later flight the same day that has Q-Suites?

No dice for a free change, unfortunately. But March is an eternity away, so there's a decent chance they'll reinstate QSuites at some point.

I think you need to be addressing this as an issue of loosing a day of your holiday rather than anything to do with QSuite. Tell BA the new flight doesn't work for you.

I don't have the BA rebooking guidelines to hand but they might be able to help over on the BA forum.
