Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.
They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.
The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.
All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.
Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

K seats on reverse herringbone for sure. But if the table thing didnt bother you until my comment you should go 3A b/c to me 3 is the perfect row on Q Suites. That said if it was me I would go 7K over 5K as row 5 gets food last of that section and 7 is either first or 2nd to get food. 3K, 7K, 5K and then repeat that all with A's is my ordering. Row 1 if there were no lavs upfront I would try it. Thinking of trying Row 1 soon on a 789 since all lavs are behind.
Sun position during flight is #1 seat consideration. Especially with electronic window darkening.
Sleep position is #2 seat consideration. I sleep in fetal position usually favoring left side though I dont like my face right in the aisle so face privacy for sleep is important.

Booked March 2023 ATL to DBX on Qsuites and paid additional fee to reserve quad (family of four traveling). Received flight change email in November with no details. Logged on and Saw change to 2-2-2 configuration. Very frustrated- spoke with 5 different reps and emailed. Only option provided was to rebook out of ATL , but none of the days had Qsuites. No other solution provided. Reviews seem to point to 2-2-2 being a downgraded experience. Flight seats have now split up Family.

I have upcoming flight Sin-doh-yul in Q-Suites in a couple of weeks. When I am looking at my reservation on the QR website, on the DOH-YUL segment my seat selection is showing as confirmed (green check mark) but the first leg SIN-DOH does not, even though the seat is assigned and there is no other seat for me to select. Do I need to do anything here or is this normal?

Not exactly sure what your question is but there is a 6-row 24 seat configuration in the A7-AO* series.

I consider the 2-2-2 777 J seat better for sleeping than QSuites. I really value not having my legs boxed into a hole and free to move regardless of the sleeping position. I nonetheless recognise it's down to personal preference and I am in the minority. It's an annoying configuration when the other seat is occupied by a stranger, but for a couple it's an excellent product which I personally cherish. So, you'll be very fine!

I also find the 2-2-2 very good to sleep in and a perfectly acceptable solution if you are a couple. We have usually taken the window - more cosy :-)
As your feet are not trapped in a box you can really roll around, which I find I wake less.

Qatar Q-Suite Flight Cancelled
Booked our dream trip to the Maldives for March 2024 with the first leg being IAD-DOH in Q-Suites. Flight was cancelled and was rebooked for the following day automatically in a non Q-Suite aircraft. When calling Qatar they advised they can not assist as it was a BA Avios booking. When calling BA they advised they can only rebook me on flights that have BA award availability open, which none do. Any tips on getting Qatar or BA to budge and put me on the later flight the same day that has Q-Suites?

I don't have the BA rebooking guidelines to hand but they might be able to help over on the BA forum.
