Qatar have confirmed the presence of a policy whereby if a customer booked a QSuites flight and subsequently gets an aircraft type swap can you request travel on an alternative flight, subject to availability, see post #2709 Previously this included change of routing, now it only includes changing the date on the same routing. QR issued tickets only!
Qatar Airways confirms new business class seat

A video of the new Q Suite can be seen here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhZDsctiZg

From TGFlyerGirl:
there are some quite complex rules entries around seat selection - but in essence, solo travellers as a guideline won't be assigned QUADS (they are blocked off), and it's generally for 3/4 pax families. Once a QUAD has been broken up (out of necessity - for example with a couple in the E/F seats), then the rest of the quad is unlocked and can be filled with individual travellers.

They've also made 1A/2B last offered to allow airport flexibility to handle last minute requests. The other 18 windows and aisles are free for reservation as per the normal process.

The bassinet position is 11B/J (77W) and 8B/J (A359), reduced mobility seats are 2/4/6/9 B and J.

All A/E/F/K's are backward facing, all B,D,G,J's are forward facing. Total 20 Forward/22 Backward.

Capacity:
77W: J42/Y312
High density 77W: J24/Y388
77L: J42/Y230
35K: J46/Y281
359: J36/Y247

Of course, 3+4 is best.
I dislike row 1 for noise and traffic.
My second choice would be 9+10. I have flown in 9 with wifey and enjoyed it.

Be aware that aircraft can change a lot.

Flew Q-Suite DOH-MNL-DOH couple months back luckily with no last minute aircraft changes.

Seat was not the most comfortable until the mattress padding got put on, but for working it is exceptional!

If you need a second screen to get work done, bring a HDMI lead - IFE doubles up as a laptop monitor.

Had to ask for PJs though despite being a red-eye from DOH-MNL...

So there is an HDMI-IN on the IFE? Nothing else required to attach laptop with HDMI-OUT, other than a standard HDMI cable?

Correct. Big beautiful display.

Great for second monitor for work or watching your own content!

Brilliant to know, thanks. Knew about the HDMI inout but didn't put 2+2 together.

Check the seat map. It's the only source that matters.

The seat map looks correct for the Q-suites, and I'm still assigned 1K (which I don't think exists on "Old J)."

I'm a bit uneasy though as it certainly seems a strange mistake to show your worst product in place of your best.

Thanks.

I think the 360 view automatically shows the old 2-2-2 seats if the plane is 777, even if it's equipped with Qsuite (which seems odd as Qsuite has been around for many years and is their most popular product). I have upcoming flights in Qsuite on 777 and they're all showing the old 2-2-2 seats on the 360 view thing. Like SilverChris said, seat map is the only source which matters.

Just as an FYI, 1K does exist on the old J. If the seatmap is still showing as Qsuite, I wouldn't worry too much about the 360 view being the old one.

In any case QR702 for the next 7 days is showing as Qsuite.

NRT is back to A35K (Qsuite) since today. (So maybe there's hope for HND as well.)

Cant find availability for Qsuites on BA?

Still new here and couldn't find this answer by searching myself.

Hoping to redeem British Avios for business flights on Qatar (Qsuites) from SFO to Maldives, but there no flights available despite searching 1 year in advance (currently I'm looking at dates in mid-Sept 2024). I have periodically been checking BA to estimate how quickly these flights may get taken up, but I thought it was strange there no available seats at all. When was I searching several months ago (around April, for flights in April 2024), there were seats available then.

Should I just keep checking periodically, or am I missing something such these Qsuite redemption being removed completely?

If I should redirect my question to another, more appropriate thread, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately Qatar haven't been releasing saver award seats lately. Lots of discussion here.

Just noticed the NRT switch to A350 Q-suite - fingers crossed it doesn't get switched out again by the time I fly!
