I had 60K on a flight last month. It is a bulk head and while it was great not having anyone infront of you, you can't stretch your legs out. I always used to despise the people who put their feet up on the bulkhead, but after a few hours of sitting there I could understand why they did it. The seat itself, imho, was very comfortable and I'd just come off another sector in a standard economy seat that I wish I was still in as I could stretch my feet out under the seat infront.
Of course, YMMV due to your height, but at 169cm I don't know how taller people would cope with it!

Question for those who frequently fly 744s. Is the upper deck generally very warm? I've seen that complaint about BA, but not specifically about QF. I'm doing DFW-BNE-SYD, and Row 14 is available on the Upper Deck, but if it's generally warm to hot up there, I'm going to go with a LD seat... TIA!

Hi All,
Looking at business class on a flight to HKG from SYD. How much of an improvement is the A380 over the A330 (on the BNE-HKG)?
I am off on a work trip, and I am tempted to add in the domestic connecting flights for additional SC so I can hit Silver on this trip.
Cheers,
David

Others can comment on the 380 in J more generally as I have yet to try, but my recent experience on the 330 BKK-SYD was that it wasn't my best ever J cabin experience long haul that I have had...

J in the A380 (LAX-SYD) was fabulous. Best flight in J I've ever taken had (and the longest).

Am travelling on QF9 later in the year - A388. Am at row 13 at the moment, but would that be too noisy with the toilets etc behind?
I should hopefully make OW Sapphire / QFF Gold in a week or two, hoping that may allow me to access row 12?

Row 12 is preferred by myself - further away from 'bar' or 'lavs' but there's really little wrong with any seat.
E/F if solo for easy aisle access.

For a solo traveller (SYD-LAX):
Anyone cares to shed light on row 13 (A380) cf. row 11?
Also, is there any seat in the main J cabin worthy of considerations to Emerald City (front J cabin) seats e.g 15AB / JK ?
I'm not even approaching the issue of window vs. aisle yet.
Regards

Care to update us on 2013/2014 status of these 747 2/3-class Sky Beds ?
Still Mk I or have they been retrofitted with Mk II by now?
Cheers

Easy!
No row 4 means Skybed Mk II & 3 class.
Row 4 means either:
- four class with lay flat seats in "First" cabin (rows 1-4), or,
- three class with Skybed Mk I in business cabins.

Could I pick the brains of the wise on FT here ?
Assume you could pick any J seat in a 2/3-class refurbished QF 747 (Skybed Mk I), how many of you would prefer the upper deck (UD) vs. the mini front cabin (rows 1-4) ?
For a solo and for a couple.
Would rows 1/2 be preferable to row 11/12 for example ?
Would row 16 be too "exposed" to passing traffic despite the unrestricted legroom ?
What's your preference (solo or couple) ?
Cheers
