Is there a row 42?

If not then exit row is row 43: http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/...63-30J214Y.pdf

Otherwise economy will be something like this with exit in rows 34 and 35: http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/...63-25J204Y.pdf

First post on FT. My fiancé and I are traveling to Sydney from Dallas on QF8. We are flying on American Miles, and I am an Exec Platinum. I just spoke with Qantas, and they moved us from 52 to 60 H/J, and the lady said these seats were bulkhead (free of charge) and much better than our previous seats. Is this accurate? I am not seeing a bulkhead on the seat maps, so I am asking the FT community for input.

Best J seats on International A330-200

I've selected 1A/B on QF24, and know that these are Skybed MkI. Would like to know whether fellow FT'ers prefer these or row 2, major differences being TV screen height (we plan to sleep anyway) and legs either on the bulkhead or under the seat in front.

Check seatguru.com. Neither config is showing row 60 being exit row so it appears both rows would be the same.

yes that's a bulkhead seat. if you go to the qantas website, look under 'fly', then 'onboard', then seat maps. you are looking for the 747-400, then the forth one down... 56 business, 40 premium economy, 275 economy. you'll see 60hj are a bulkhead.

I disagree, my son is on QF 7, and is in 60H as a bulkhead. This is in the refurbished 747-400ER. Seatguru has not been updated AFAIK.

Config is 58 J, 36 PE, 270 Y

Check out http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/...58J36W270Y.pdf

Thanks all. The best thing about this seat is that this bulkhead seat (re: extra legroom) is free of charge, whereas Qantas charges AU $180 for the other exit row seats in economy.

Yes, and there may also be power for a laptop as these aircraft has a refurbished fit-out similar to the A380.

See here: http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airl...resh/global/en

What type of power charger should I get for the aircraft seat? Being based in Dallas, I have never had a need for one as the longest flights within the US are about 4 hours.

google is your friend!!! 'qantas in seat power' returns the following:

http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airl...ions/global/en

Edited - you need to read the blurb about their refurbished 747s to see that they offer in seat power in all cabins (the link above suggests it is not in coach)

Also note that with bulkhead seats the 110vac power supply socket can be hard to find - if it is there it will be recessed where the TV screen arm stows.

Great thanks. By the way, Mrs TK enjoyed the F Lounge experience at SYD last week! You may even have crossed paths unknowingly!!

I had 60K on a flight last month. It is a bulk head and while it was great not having anyone infront of you, you can't stretch your legs out. I always used to despise the people who put their feet up on the bulkhead, but after a few hours of sitting there I could understand why they did it. The seat itself, imho, was very comfortable and I'd just come off another sector in a standard economy seat that I wish I was still in as I could stretch my feet out under the seat infront.

Of course, YMMV due to your height, but at 169cm I don't know how taller people would cope with it!

Thanks too dddc- good to know.

Son is 162 so should be fine for him. Did you use the power socket at all? Just curious where it is located (ie the same as the Y seat in the A380?)

Cheers, TK
