With the links in post 1 (from 2008) now being redundant due to aircraft changes and QF software changes the wiki has been established. Please add relevant information.

Thanks, igel!! I really appreciate your help. I will stick with QF 52 to BNE.
I was also wondering whether the 747 used to operate QF 127 (Syd-Hkg) usually has the skybed II; since the 380 is sometimes used on this flight, I assume that it is used?
I know to look for row 4 to see what config the 747 has, but on the seat map I can only see the upper deck and the dorm room part of J; I can't see row 4.
If you had a choice, would you chose to fly this flight on qf 127 or one of the cx a330s in j. Is either seat better for flying with an infant?
I'm new to the QF board but am grateful for the warm welcome and great tips I've received so far; thank you so much!!

Flying from SYD-HKG again
Premium Economy on QF127/QF128
Worth the 25,000 points to upgrade one leg to business?
Would you suggest the flight over on the 747-400 (I have an exit row Premium) it is a daytime flight. Or the 380-800 back (I have the last row Aisle) overnight flight?

first class is available for sale on all services... so no chance of getting a first class seat as a business class passenger.
therefore... if you had to upgrade, you'd do it on the a380.
if you had a choice between cx business or qf 747... then cx wins hands down. full flat bed.

the 747 to hkg offers old angled business class seats. not flat.

Possibly 6 downstairs in business, not a single first class passenger.
Very low loads it seems.

OK, that was a first for me: combo paid & award tickets running across 9 airports and 4 airlines.
Have been reading through the thread & taking a breather before I move on to booking the remaining seats and was wanting current opinions on:
QF12. 388 in F
QF530. 73H in J
QF125. 73H in J
The goal on seat selection is peace & quite (so I can get some frickin' work done!) and not having to climb over anyone to get out.
And for those of you that have tried it (I was curious), anyone got an opinion about NZ2 773 and 23B in W?

the 73Hs... well... not a lot of choice there. single aisle, lots of movement wherever you sit. window might be a bit quieter (in the sense of no crew or carts bumping your seat) but then you will have to climb over someone).

I have got 13A on the 380 SYD-HKG-SYD with all seats in the main cabin (except 15JK) available for choosing. Shall I stick with 13 or choose 15A? Another seat?
I think from reading the whole thread that 'Emerald City' is better - surprised to have had it available as I'm only Gold QFF.

Take K seating to avoid the Sunset/Sunrise - other than that I prefer row 12.
(On that aircraft I am a convert from E/F due to side storage and ease of aisle access even if B/J PAX is reclined.)

Flying to the US next week on QF107 on Saturday. Seems I cannot select Row 43....but current in 60H (refurbed 747) - is this a good seat? Any chance 43A would open up prior to departure?
On the way back currently in seat 34G in the upstairs cabin of an A380...waiting for Row 32 to open up. If it doesn't, would 34G be a good seat? All the prized seats (like 80 A/K) seem to be taken.

If the left side is full, nothing booked in rest of cabin- what is the best pair to go for for a couple?

Any adjacent pair would do as the suites are somewhat private - any pair would be well isolated from each other during takeoff and landing.
