And going to bed - ideally the first time really sleeping since early Friday morning.

Guess what I'm back. The box is a great reality check. Ask for  get  yes I was in 4F, I am suprised at the general lack of 4f jokes but the beef spare rib ( which was all that was left) was decent. |
I think DL has a worse group of F passengers than CO and NW. We haven't even finished boarding yet and the guy next to me already has his bare feet up on the bulkhead.

I still think CO has the best US domestic F product of the remaining legacies.

The recipe is for a pecan and oat crusted tofu entrée, with a salad of oats, lentils, and chopped vegetables. The problem is that the recipe lists about 20 ingredients under the heading "Tofu Marinade." After that is another heading, with several more ingredients, for "Tofu Crust." The directions start off with "Combine all ingredients for tofu marinade." What it doesn't tell you is that only the first 3 or 4 of the long list under the tofu marinade heading are for the marinade; the rest are for the salad, a completely different dish. It was only when I got down to the oats and lentils, which I knew were to be cooked for the salad, not part of the marinade, that I really questioned this. At that point I had a bowl full of things that shouldn't have gone together, which we had to toss. After starting over, we then realized there were ingredients in the list that were never mentioned in the recipe itself (we had to guess where things like ginger went since there was never any instruction on what to do with it), and curiously, the ingredients list was missing tofu, which was the main course of the dish. Anyway, it turned out fine. It was a lot of work in the end, but the taste was very good, and we would make it again, with some modification to the recipe. Unfortunately the recipes on that show's website don't allow for comments to be made, unlike most recipe websites on the web.

Actually, this was a ticket offered to me so I didn't even think about Teh Box....a thousand apologies! I'll be there with Ms. GadFly and a couple friends and we'll be having dinner before the show in the vegetarian place across the street (is that the restaurant you meant Xyzzy?).
Right now, Ms. GadFly knows we're going to a show but she has no idea who we're seeing and I'm going to do my best to keep it a secret until the last possible moment. She's completely in love with Colbert and is going to go nuts when she finds out it's him. I've not watched much (if any) of Colbert's stuff, but I am familiar with him in general. His picture is in the Smithsonian at the entrance to the exhibit where things like Kermit The Frog, the ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz and Archie & Edith's chairs from All In The Family are. Strangely, Fonzi's leather jacket is not there. |

Yes -- it's not vegetarian, but it certainly is picky eater friendly. It's called the Eurasian Eatery. It's an excellent place.

Combined, they probably offer some of the most honest and unabridged versions of the news out there. The Daily Show truly shows the absurdity of the 24 hour cable news networks while The Colbert Report is relentless in satarizing the "Keith Olbermans" and "Sean Hannitys" of the world. I'd highly recommend trying them out for a week or two....I'm sure you'll be hooked. Take a peek at their wikipedia pages (especially Colbert's) to see some of the cultural impact they've had. |
