Earle is a NWS. Munitions come from NWS Earle. If anything landed there there would produce a rather large bang!

When the Navy flew dirigibles out of Lakehurst, they would sometimes return with bullet holes from guys in the pine barrens firing at them. When Akron went down, somebody stole the academy class ring from the finger of the dead captain.

A lot of people's 'Exit 12/13' impressions of Jersey sure are wrong, even today. I miss it.

Not only is it still standing but I was in it semi-recently. They've converted a bunch of the space into walled off rooms including an area with a recording studio. I was in there acting as a session drummer for someone laying down some tracks for a demo. I got to see the inside of what's left of the actual hangar but it was through a small dirty window so I couldn't see much......just looked like a bunch of stacked up stuff being stored in there.

Still extremely cool to be there though.

I was in an old blimp hangar last year. If you're ever on the coast near Portland, OR, check out the Tillamook Air Museum. You can also visit where a lot of the PC cheese comes from :p

I can't believe no one picked-up on my spotting a rodent trap in the C-North P Club the other week.:eek::o;)

When the Navy flew dirigibles out of Lakehurst, some inhabitants of the Pine Barrens probably thought that the dirigibles were the Commies invading.

I believe it. I once saw an IAH cop make his own rodent trap -- in the middle of the hallway. that connects C and E. He used his boot. Splat!

However, after starting it, we realized it has huge errors in the way the recipe is printed on the website, which lead to it not working at all. I just had to throw out a ton of ingredients and start over again from scratch after realizing that the recipe is just plain wrong.

I made Alton Brown's baby back ribs. They were pretty great. Arguably better than Big Ed's (don't tell xyzzy).:rolleyes::-:

My fiancee would watch every bride show there was. My wife, on the other hand, hasn't watched one. :-:

Just sayin', that's all. ;)

In the face of increasingly strident demands, I just looked it up: Akron crashed in the sea off the coast of NJ. It was some other Lakehurst based airship that crashed on land.

According to some RCC members, the rodents are the people without memberships.

Both!

When my Thalys stopped there, it was to kick a passenger off. And there is a compensation scheme in place for late trains.

I guess that answers the question in the thread asking about refunds to a CC or certificate.

Precisely what I was thinking.

Last night in F there was a guy dressed in a black wife beater, gold chain, and he had slicked back hair. He slammed his seat back as soon as he sat down.

A guy in Y from ZRH was wearing the more traditional white version of the beater. No gold chains or greased back hair.

CSA's unrefurbished business class seats on the A310 are the most comical (and sad) J product I have ever laid eyes on. KQ fields a better regional biz seat on its 737s. In fact, CO's domestic F seat is better. The leg-rest on the OK seats only extends about 4" max, so unless you are shorter than 5'1", it is completely useless when extended.

Am glad I got the A310, and very glad it was a day flight. Comical seat aside, the service and food onboard were fine. I think I drank them dry of nice Moravian white wine.
