Friend. When I get back on the Turnpike I hope there's a plane flying over head landing at EWR so I can point out how far we had driven by then. Not looking forward to the drive since I've never driven there.

It was quite a shock when I drove down the NJT to DC & had to hand over ridiculous amounts of $ for tolls!:eek::rolleyes:

I should have been clearer: I have been to JFK in the last nine years. I went to the B6 T5 Do, and had a great time. My nine-year milestone is that of flying in or out of there...and upon checking some records, I had the wrong date. The last time I transited JFK was 3 January 2001. It's coming up on nine years.

All the flights out of SAN were booked full or oversold except the 7:35 am SAN-EWR and there were 3 F seats open and a few in the back. When I approached the GA she said I can get you on a direct flight to EWR in F but I will not be able to give you a voucher until we know it is oversold. She had me fill out the oversell slip for compensation and said that she would call me and let me know if they will be mailing me a voucher. She said she would include me, my wife, and another girl that opted for the direct flight in the list to determine if there would have been an oversell. It was either do this and take the risk of CO not ever telling me if we would get a voucher or take the flight via IAH in Y all the way to LGA. I guess I was lucky in that the GA was honest and is in fact mailing me a $250 voucher. Either way I would have been happy as a transcon F is always better than in Y.^

I have been through JFK on B6 (CLT), UA (IAD), and DL (IAD). All of those was on the same MR.

CLT-JFK-IAD-LAX-IAD-JFK-IAD-DEN-LAX-SFO-ORD-IAD-JFK-CLT.

Had to turn down a VDB offer on my CLE-IAH tonight. Am sitting on the plane now, because they couldn't offer anything arriving into IAH until late tomorrow evening.

Looks like they'll be IDBing a number of people on tonight's flight. I bet CO feels dumb now for giving me a standard F award seat on this flight.

Take the VDB and explain to your boss that you were denied boarding.

The last time I was put in that position, I was too young to know about bumps. Hopefully it doesn;t happen again for quite some time. Ideally, if it never happened again I would be happy.

My wife did this to me multiple times during a AUS - LGB B6 flight. It was so bad the people around us noticed and, of course, she blamed me. :rolleyes:
