I am developing a Plan B for my upcoming scheduled DPS trip - Mrs. MBM3 is extremely uneasy about the recent bombing. Top of the list is SEZ with a stopover in NBO. Has anyone in the Box done a safari in Kenya or Tanzania?

With respect to European carriers, we will be exchanging AF, KL, CSA, and AZ for LH, LX, TY, BD (for what that's worth), and SK. I don't know that amy of those carriers are leaps and bounds ahead of the Skyteam partners with respect to soft and hard product quality (except AZ, of course). Oh, I forgot OZ, which we also will gain.

CSA = OK
Turkish THY = TK (I think that's what you have TY as)
Austrian = OS
Asiana = OZ

I'm not so sure that the new partners are necessarily better, but there are going to be more flights into ATH, I think. That's the only reason I mentioned that.

Don't ever forget OS. It has the best food Transat in business class of any airline doing those routes.

As far as the big dogs are concerned, I prefer LH to AF/KL simply because of employee attitude. KL people frequently start from the position that "it is not possible" and the AF attitude is that "it is up to you to figure out if it is possible." :)

And I have found service on OZ to be superior to that of KE and every bit as good as found on SQ.

A few years ago, I was blissfully unaware of what FT was :confused:

The first time I ever met anyone was at DOIV and I only joined the site a few months before that. That being said, those of you whom I've met now feel almost like extended family. None of my friends "get it" when I talk about anything travel related. They don't get why I would rather spend a little more and make a connection to fly on CO than go non-stop on another carrier. Y'all know where I'm coming from, right? hehehe

+1. My boss and some friends think I'm totally nuts (especially with the dollar coin thing going on), but that's their loss.
