I am confused by how many different aircraft types DL has.

What are the chances that my flight from JFK-NRT will have the VS style flat seats?
OCT 28 NW799 (Operated by “Delta”)

Don't feel bad. So is DL.

Your chances are slim to none. I believe the route has been flown with nothing but a 772ER since it started. Only DL's 772LRs have the lie flat J seats.

I have zero travel planned for the unforseeable future. Last major trip was on miles so nothing has shown up in the old account for the past 3 months. :( But on the flipside - I still am plat until '11. So hopefully the drought will end soon.

I've qualified for Plat already until 2011 as well - my only remaining flights in 2009 (thus far) are ZRH and the New Year's trip to LAS.

It's possible though I doubt it. Currently the 77Ls are doing LAX-SYD,ATL-BOM/JNB and ATL-ICN a few days a week. Though, ATL-BOM will be gone by then.

I just checked, there is a 77L that is going to start doing ATL-JFK-ATL turns starting October. Sadly the plane does not continue onto NRT. I also don't believe they rotate and 77Ls through NRT.

I'm still hoping DL releases some seats on the ATL-ICN 77L flight in 3 weeks... I'd gladly trade our JFK-ICN (KE) for EWR-ATL-ICN.

If you need a 77L to fly hub-hub flights, you're too effing big for your own good. Next thing we know, DL will announce that they have signed a codeshare deal with the US Air Force for seats on C-5's.

There are many carriers that use 777s between their hubs.

I still can't believe you are going BKK-SYD-HKT... :D That is a lot of flying, regardless of class of service. Yes I must have missed a few posts. But hopefully you have some nice planes enroute. :) Are you going back through BKK to HKT?

It was somewhat in jest, as indicated (poorly) by the C-5 reference. The one serious comment to be made is the reinforcement of my belief that DL, for reasons I've yet to understand, seems to think that they can open any city pair and have it sell like it's the hot new item. I said earlier that DL has more of a hubris issue than an ego, and I stand by that...especially since The Wizard told me that I might be right. :)

I miss the old days when CO used 777 between EWR and IAH. My very first 777 flight was that line.
