I rushed and burned myself...that 68% could have easily been around 75% if I took the time to read the question several times over.

A common test taking problem, it has a common solution. If the choice answers the question, then it is the one you should select.

Very true, but in many cases where I went wrong was picking an answer that I thought satisfied the question withut looking at the other answers in enough detail. When we went thru the answers and she told me where I was wrong, I re-read the answer I gave vs. the right answer and found in lots of those cases that the right answer was very much the same as what I picked and it was just worded better and/or more accurately.

I went through an undergrad program that did macro first but a graduate program that did micro first.

I just read on ESPN that Watson is at 40/1 right now to win it all. I think I'll put $5 on that when I get to Vegas in a few hours.

So what's the line on Watson now?

(Not big on golf anymore, but you bet I'll be rooting for him ^ )

Had I finished my undergrad in Hospitality, I would have had to do micro first. I can't remember if the undergrad requirements for history even had any Econ in them. My hunch is no, only because the school I did most of my work at was very liberal arts-focused...they were one of the first schools that I knew of to have a History department that managed to teach everything up to and including their senior seminars from a standpoint of non-conflict. Everything was thematic rather than driven by the idea that history is made by forces acting upon one another. This is the same place where a professor admonished me to stop telling jokes about the French, "because it's bad for the UN." He and I didn't get along too well, to the point that he refused to call on me in classes. I used to keep my arm raised just to prove the point that he was a far-left activist douche who was unwilling to tolerate an opposing viewpoint.

I made an Excel sheet that has my answers from the first practice attempt along with tabs for future tests, and each tab has formulas written in that will tell me the percentage of correct answers. Given that ETS seems to take a perverse delight in making it impossible to know how a percentage of correct answers correlates to the weight of points in the test, having a percentage makes me feel good and gives me a metric but does nothing to tell me if I'm in the neighborhood of a passing score. Sigh.

I have zero travel planned for the unforseeable future. Last major trip was on miles so nothing has shown up in the old account for the past 3 months. :( But on the flipside - I still am plat until '11. So hopefully the drought will end soon.
