I was just listening to the Billy Joel Q&A/concert disc today. The answers he gives to questions from the crowd are just too cool. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, find someone you know who owns the four-disc Complete Hits collection, and listen to Disc 4.

Amazing, isn't it? One of my friends is about to become a grandmother and one person from my class has been a grandmother for over 5 years (so her grand child is the same age as my child  ); though she started very young.

I hear ya! It's a bit freaky when 'peers' are in a totally different stage of their lives -- but we each live our lives as they are destined to be, eh?! I was really shocked when I went to my 25th college reunion & saw classmates that looked literally 15 -20 yrs older than I imagined they would/should look!

Thank you very much, kind sir.

You're welcome, daaahling. I always say nice things about women who wear high black boots. Always had a thing for boots on women.

Back from an incredible, but quick, 36 hours in Santa Fe, NM. We arrived late Friday night, and then spent Saturday enjoying brunch at Tia Sophia, exploring the Plaza, shops, and Canyon Road, hiking in the mountains, and then relaxing for a couple of hours at Ten Thousand Waves Spa (private hot tub room ^^^ followed by some time in the sauna and laying out on the communal hot tub patio). We wrapped up the evening with an amazing dinner at Geronimo. Then, this morning, there was just enough time for breakfast at Paris Café (a sidewalk café with its outdoor dining literally in the middle of a street), and then a drive back to Albuquerque via the scenic Turquoise Trail.

Now back home, and headed back to New Mexico again tomorrow for work. Yes, I flew ABQ-IAH-ATL today, followed by ATL-IAH-LBB and a drive to Clovis, NM tomorrow. But had I not come home, it would have meant a solid two weeks of not seeing my own home, and hauling around enough clothing for two weeks of work, plus two weekend trips, and I wasn't willing to do that. Besides, there's a lot more miles in it this way, and my client in Portales, NM is buying these tickets.

Anyway, it was a great trip. Now to plan the next one.

^ Sounds like an amazing weekend! Thanks for the mini trip report.

And here you are, back in Jersey -- I guess 'distance made the heart grow fonder' - eh!:D
Being that my half brother is 15 years older than me, ah no.

I've heard ABQ makes for a nice weekend, and this just sold it for me a little more. It's hard to pull off a weekend that far west from the east coast, but at least if I do it I know where to go now.

Looks like you needed to bug out of our fair state about as much as I don't wanna be here anymore, but you seem to have taken it to an extreme. Never would North Dakota have even cracked my top 10 of places to run to.

I went to a women's college -- so not much hair loss there!:D But HS reunion is an entirely different story -- I was pretty surprised by what I saw there -- esp. when one can remember how these guys looked w/a head full of hair. I would say that a good number of the guys who showed up for reunion had shaved heads by then. They seemed fine with it, though. I just wasn't prepared for it!

I believe ND is on my top 10 places I never ever want to live.

My father had worked out there after college. When he mentioned the placed I laughed. I grew up in an Ivy League town afterall. When it came down to decidng which school to actually go to I remember saying to my sister "I can't bellieve I'm seriously considering that place." Not Delaware, not U Mass, not Wisconsin, not Pitt, (I can't remember where else I was accepted). Don't regret the decision at all. Made great friends that I still keep in regular contact with. I was taller than most of the people out there and a NJ additude puts you ahead of people from Minnesota (school was 40% Minnesotanians) and I got to be an RA and had to deal with freshman football players of which one was in several superbowls (no ring though)

I had a decent weekend in ABQ back in May. I left EWR early on Friday morning and returned on the last flight from IAH on Sunday morning. Very easy to pull of a weekend that far west... ;)

I'm so used to Plus1's chiapet hair that I get shocked at other's loss.
