You are going to love it! He is an amazing man and a fantastic ambassador for UA. His FO from our dinner in Dec. was very easy on the eyes ;)

I was up until 2am, slept til 1030 this morning, and fell asleep for at least an hour after dinner. This is gonna be a long night and may be my first serious consideration of the sdm1130 "screw it window" in quite some time.

Sounds like a lot of fun....I've never performed with a brass section (although I have been known to toot my own horn :p:rolleyes::td:). I don't have tix for any concerts coming up. My bass player saw McCartney at Citi Field the other night but didn't offer me a ticket when he got them . I heard Billy Joel showed up and played on a couple songs.

It's fun to look at pics from when one was younger -- it's particularly interesting when one has a daughter that is now 18 & looks so much older than her mom did at that age! |

Yes. That's also why I have These Photos from that flat no mans land.
I can't imagine living or going to school in that part of the country! |

He is amazing. If all UA folks were like him, they'd be a great airline to fly. He truly cared what people had to say and patiently answered everyones questions. A great guy ^

Google the name, Shawn; there's some really interesting reading to be had. Famed UA 757/767 Captain who hands out personalized business cards, gives away wine, and is an overall spectacular ambassador for UA. The profile piece that the WSJ did on him was one of the better pieces I've read. lucky9876coins is kept apprised of his flying schedule, and he has been known to organize party flights which feature Capt. Denny at the controls. IIRC, a recent one changed its callsign to "UA Flyertalk 1".

Back from an incredible, but quick, 36 hours in Santa Fe, NM. We arrived late Friday night, and then spent Saturday enjoying brunch at Tia Sophia, exploring the Plaza, shops, and Canyon Road, hiking in the mountains, and then relaxing for a couple of hours at Ten Thousand Waves Spa (private hot tub room ^^^ followed by some time in the sauna and laying out on the communal hot tub patio). We wrapped up the evening with an amazing dinner at Geronimo. Then, this morning, there was just enough time for breakfast at Paris Café (a sidewalk café with its outdoor dining literally in the middle of a street), and then a drive back to Albuquerque via the scenic Turquoise Trail.
Now back home, and headed back to New Mexico again tomorrow for work. Yes, I flew ABQ-IAH-ATL today, followed by ATL-IAH-LBB and a drive to Clovis, NM tomorrow. But had I not come home, it would have meant a solid two weeks of not seeing my own home, and hauling around enough clothing for two weeks of work, plus two weekend trips, and I wasn't willing to do that. Besides, there's a lot more miles in it this way, and my client in Portales, NM is buying these tickets. Anyway, it was a great trip. Now to plan the next one. |
