Alright, I'm ticked and tempted to send CO Insider a note.

I checked-in for my flights (that had not upgraded) and noticed that I wasn't added to the stand-by list. I call the Elite line and 20 minutes later I get the following answer as to why this happened.

I used the 2-for-1 voucher and that has terms attached to it, which are nowhere on the voucher, that essentially turn the reservation into a companion reservation and make upgrades an all or nothing endeavor. I cannot be added to the list until I get to the airport and cannot be upgraded unless there is space available for my wife and I. I have looked at the voucher again and there is nothing on it that says anything about this. I thought the guy might be blowing smoke up my butt but I am a little too angry to try and call back.

He said that even though I had split the reservation the terms of the voucher stick with them. Maybe I should have bought the ticket under my wife's name, but then we probably wouldn't have been able to book elite seats. :rolleyes:

Had I known these were the terms, I wouldn't have used the stupid voucher and just bought the tickets outright, but it was sitting on my desk and I thought it was a good chance to use it.

Am I overreacting? The AUS-IAH segment is full now (with upgrades) and PDX-IAH is on that path.

In other news, the FA last night was Drop. Dead. Gorgeous. @:-) And I'm not just saying that because of the absurd amount of beer I consumed on that flight, or that she freely offered up beers to a few "select" pax during the Penalty Box hold.

One advantage of DL going to E175's for the Shuttle is you no longer have the Sr. Mama flight attendants (who were always great in everything but the looks dept).
