I can see the follow-up ad now: "Become a true multi-modal dead common carrier baron by adding, for just 4.99 plus shipping and handling, (all eligible for the 8% off!!): Consolidated Freightways and the Erie Lackawanna Railroad."

Six o'clock. Feeding time. The dogs are trying to pick up a pitchfork in their paws and figure out a Bic lighter.

Where are you my friend?

I am about ready to start my football weekend. First, USC-OSU then Browns-Vikings tomorrow, with a potential flyby (the patriarch of the Lerner's was a Marine and usually they pay for the Marines to shake the stadium).

Had a great night watching Godfather outside while dining on a picnic prepared by Fahrenheit and Coppola wines. Doesnt get much better than that!

Nice pix from HKG. I went all the way through to see the purchases from Sam. :D

Am watching a pretty good Lee Marvin movie on AMC Point Blank. (Not to be confused with the awful 1998 film of the same name.)

I liked The Simpsons parody of "Paint Your Wagon".

Tough crowd.

Apparently, our friend Lou Holtz's prediction - widely dispelled in the box - was indeed wrong. Along the way, two seconds disappeared from the clock (in a game at Michigan) during a dead ball period and ND possession (11 seconds to 9 seconds) ...

That's one of my guilty-pleasure bad movies. I'll watch it if it's on, if for nothing else to see Gary Busey pre-injury and to watch the lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers take a bullet in his foot.

"You ready? The Ex-Presidents...are SURFERS!"

I just loged onto my NWA account and it looks like they gave me a "thank you bonus" of 5,000 miles on 9/7 :)

I know the feeling. I am tempteted to buy a ticket and fly somewhere on Mon/Tues but the close in tickets are stopping that non-sense. hmmmm

Need to get away. I may just have to go to Houston. Not much of a trip but would make the IAH DO.

Marana is very interesting, and worth Googling. Evergreen (the CIA proprietary) was there, the field manager at one time was the guy who directed air cover for the Bay of Pigs invasion, there is currently an ANG or reserve operation there, the special ops connection you mention. And lots and lots of off the books airframes parked just a little ways away in case a couple of planes might be needed to, say, fight fires in Honduras.

What are those aircraft in the Google view that are red, blue, or black?
