IME AA F is as good as anyone else's in terms of food and service (milk and cookies are a nice touch). No IFE on the MD-80s if that matters.

I can only compare to CO, but I think AA's seats are a bit worn and most cabins seem dirty. Again I am only comparing AA to CO. The milk and cookies are also :-:^

ETA: I'd rather sit Y in a mad dog than Y on a CO 737.

DCA-PHX and PDX-PHL should be long enough for meals. MSP-CLT is just around 1,000 miles, if not a little bit under, and most likely won't.

US offers no meal service on flights less than 3.5 hours (PHL-DFW used to be an exception; don't know if it still is) whereas the competition still does. Search "potato chips for breakfast" for more details.

I wish I had known that when I booked my ORD-GEG trips...

Thoughts on AA? I had been sitting on 23K-and-change AA miles for a few years (flown them once since 2006, and I had to look in my FM to remember that). I needed a one-way NYC-DEN for December (to drive a car back to DC, dropping me off in CLE for the holidays), the CO qualification was already taken care of, and the prices weren't great...so I transferred a couple thousand *points and cleaned out my AA account on a one-way F award LGA-DFW-DEN.

Not sure if that was a supreme waste of 25K, but it'll give me a chance to go Mall of America on a new route/domestic F product/lunch/dinner that I probably would never do otherwise, at least in the near future...right?

I've flown AA a few times in the last 18 months and have always been pleasantly surprised with good flights in both Y and F.

I need to transfer some points off my corporate Diners Club card to AA to help pad that account so I can use my AA miles for something. I'm hoping there will be a transfer bonus coming up sometime so that I can make the transfer even more worthwhile.

Oneworld rewards are great^ Im going to ticket my res for the PRG DO tomorrow (I think). JFK-LHR-PRG-LHR-MAD-JFK on AA-BA-IB in Business for 90,000 miles....if your total routing is under 9,000 miles it only cost 80k miles but my schedule doesnt allow for that.

Once my office hours are officially "whenever I want to drive to the office", I hope to do one last big order.

Not as a "full" carrier, maybe a regional affiliate. There is no way they could get away with B6 entering into the alliance full bore with the amount of the NYC market that CO/B6 would control.

I don't think B6 will truly enter though, the airlines operate on vastly different models.

Do we know who initiated this? B6 or LH? I imagine B6 has a lot more to gain than LH with this code sharing.

I stuck to a simple ORD-PHX-GEG routing for those ones.
