PDX is normally a pretty cheap run.

We are going next weekend. It was the kinda cheap (though not MSP-GEG cheap!) US Q-UP fare from FLL-PDX. sbm12 is using his B6 MultiPass to get there.

And how did that go?

Surprisingly well. I didn't win the battle to have it used, but the discussion was a long and good one. In the end, it wasn't music, content, message, symbolism or artist that got it shot down. The song is just too damn long in that version (and for the intended purpose) and to cut out the instrumentals would in some way defeat the purpose of using it.

I said the same thing, but we have some big seatbelt law advocates here :D

For as much of an advocate of common sense and low government interference as I am, if common sense gets boogers flicked at it by the public and seat belts are proven to work, then it's a good reason to interfere. Common sense is dying a slow and painful death in this country. It is both common sense and morally correct to not beat the hell out of your spouse, but we still have domestic violence laws.

I don't think they will care. Neither UA or CO have any substantial ops at JFK, where i presume most, if not all, of the codesharing will happen. B6 isn't part of A++ and that's where a lot of the focus will be.

You don't think that a codeshare is a baby step to B6 wearing the Star? Granted, there are issues to work out with the single-cabin thing...but LH is like The Blob. It just consumes everything in its path. LH chose to put B6 in its path.

Don't forget Lufty's rumored joint marketing agreement with Apple. Assimilation to iLHife? Is possible.

I'll be back in 32D sleeping

On the ZRH-JFK, I'll be a few rows further back in exit row 36. I do have what should be ample time for guesting at JFK before getting on the plane back to BNA. My luggage is a compact backpack (clothes, shoes, toiletries, and netbook), so I won't be in the luggage line.

LH tried to download a personality. The connection to the server timed out.

My impressions of LH are overwhelmingly positive. Then again, I have only flown them in F. :D

My impression of US in F is mostly favorable. That's not saying much ;)

I'm kind of looking forward to checking out UA and US F in a few weeks. It's been a while since I flew either carrier and US F will be a first for me.

I'm all for checking out things first hand before deciding if I want to bad mouth them.

I have heard other reports (mainly from ssullivan) that US F is just fine. I certainly hope so, as I'll be seeing a lot of it in the next few months.

US domestic F is kinda like the Mall of America. Do it once to say that you did; nothing special in the air whatsoever.

There is a thread in the US forum right now that makes US F the total beyotch of UA F.

But how is that any different than domestic F on the other US carriers?

I absolutely love the UA F seat. Whoever designed it paid due attention to ergonomics. On me, at least, it conforms perfectly to the contours of my back. CO's two flat slabs of leather intersecting at right-angles leave me with a sore back after several hours in the air, even with the so-called lumbar support (which does little more than poke into my tail-bone).

ETA - DL has the worst F seats of any domestic carrier, IMO. Green Pleather Bricks with terrible padding and back-support. It's no wonder they have AVOD. Without it, you wouldn't be able to take your mind off the terrible seat.

I've only flown domestic F recently enough for comment purposes on US and CO. CO domestic F beats US domestic F like the LAPD beat Rodney King.

I completely agree with your assessment of the CO seat - terribly uncomfortable after a few hours.

I was in the DL domestic F seat a few weeks ago but was so tired that I don't remember a single thing about the seat, cabin, crew or service.

In terms of seat, service, or both? IIRC, CO 1E recently commented that the refurbed domestic F seats are quite nice.
