Raise your hand if you've ever met a travel agent who knows more about how the airlines work than you do.

I don't know why my company pays a fee to "I'm sorry, but my computer says those exit row seats are simply unavailable"

There are some good travel agents out there, though I have not personally met a single one in corporate travel who knew the difference between fare classes, much less the difference between seats. I have encountered a couple in non-corporate settings that are great but they seem to be few and far between.

Absolutely, and he valued the opinion and beliefs of others who may have opposed him. That is a lost art these days and, I must say, it bothers me.

Uh, fellas? Murderer. @:-)

Too many people, and I've been in nearly an entire ballroom full of them, get into travel just to see what vendors they can suck a FAM trip out of. Too many people confuse "travel agent" with "phone drone" and apply an undeserved label to a community of morons.

Not terribly surprising, really.

I am considering going to the OU-BYU game (which I'd really like to see in person), but I'm having trouble getting over the fact that were I to do so, I would be enriching the Jerry Jones/Ticketmaster/Let's-Build-A-Hugely-Wasteful-Stadium empire. And I really don't want to do so.

I thought the $36 whole large plain at California Adventure was criminal. But, what the hell, right? Jerry Jones has to find a way to pay Usain Bolt.

When are you going? I was unimpressed until it became a Q-Up.

All next year as I'm a bit booked for the rest of this year.

I'm on a first name basis with our travel director simply due to all the issues we've had with Amex.

The best was a while back they did an upgrade that took away the fare rules. I raised an issue about it, got a call from Amex rep saying "You actually look at those!??! Nobody looks at those!".

Which reminds me, I need to go raise a stink about a ticket they never canceled that they were supposed to and thus cost me $150.

So with everything probably going to happen in 2010, you have LH FTL locked up and could likely make SEN.

I got a nice routing on ITA but how do you book it? on UA? I tried to enter it on UA with the same times but got a fare that was around $595.

These are refundable, right?

It will be interesting to see how CO chooses to credit them as well. My BD qualification period starts at the end of October. Crediting the LH TATL flights in J (200%) and the 15K for the *A charter gets me 34,688 miles in the first 2 weeks of my program year. A couple of these at 20K/pop and I could be sitting on serious heaps of points as the second one and any more would be at 625%.

Then again, adding to my CO MMer status at 150% would be pretty nice, too. Probably get me to Platinum again in a hurry if I time it right. I guess I should see if I can stack a couple back-to-back-to-back like I did with BWI-SEA last year.

Do a multi-seg search and break it up. Also, select 'Price by price and lowest first'

So, MSP-ORD-LAX-SFO-SEA-GEG I would break up as MSP-LAX, LAX-SFO and SFO-GEG.

I figure the BD is worth it for now as that's my entry into the RCCs. The Star DO is being credited to UA for the long-hauls as I'm only at 66k on UA for the year. The 15K is going to CO as i don't really need to dump anything into LH. If they do the 15k for UA, that would be awesome.

Too bad the positioning costs are awful from CLE-MSP, which is even more sucktastic as there has been a major reduction in mainline equipment on the route.
