Yes they are. I don't think we've ever waited more than 24 hours for points to post there.

Recall the only way to get there on CO, AA, DL is via 145 or CRJ. SWA does 737.

There's also the AA ATR-72 that's flying there now too.

those jalopies are worse than an ERJ(OR CRJ!) by far!

Talk about duct tape planes! and easyjet style seat pitch.

Smartass. :p

Mornin' Box. I'm drinking a "redeye" from Starbucks because our coffee press came apart while I was making coffee. While Starbucks isn't terrible, it is on the verge of being at the same level as the coffee I'd get at Whataburger or McDonald's. It may not actually be the coffee, but the espresso that makes this drink taste so bad.

I prefer the ATRs to the CRJs by a long shot.

Back when TYR was serviced by them I used to think it was the coolest flight. Now, surprisingly, that service is done by ERJs (it can't be more than a 20 minute flight).

You're up early this morning!

I've never flown the ATR-72. I'd be willing to put up with that stuff just once, for getting a flight in on that type. I've never flown Eagle either, so it would be a new airline as well.

Been up since 3am PST...so much for that attempt to go back to sleep before, I can try again now :)

Yep. The DL/NW service is hard to schedule due to its timing and it is all CRJ.

CM, you could always do PHL-IAH-LBB//AMA-DAL-PHL or some combination. The drive to AMA is 2 hours, but you get to see a lot of the expanse of Texas nothingness + Cadillac Ranch

The ATR is roomier inside, thanks to the taller ceiling. It's been years since I've been on an ATR (back when COEX had them) but I could almost stand upright in it, and the window seats don't suffer from the extreme cabin curvature that the CRJ window seats do. I remember it being similar in dimensions to the Dash-8/Q series turboprops, which also have a nice tall ceiling and good shoulder space in the window seats.

the only saving grace of an ATR intra Texas is you probably won't be on it more than an hour. The seating is much worse than a Q2 or Q4 IMO.

Google has released Arterial Traffic, which, while cool, is a little scary.

Yeah, but it's pretty par for the course as far as Google's data collection history is concerned. I used GMM and enjoyed it for the time I had that phone, and don't really have a problem with it transmitting basic unidentifiable data back to the mothership, provided it is truly unidentifiable by anyone anywhere in the data chain. The arterial traffic reports have been showing up in Austin for the past couple of months and I've found them pretty helpful in most cases.
