I love a good vegetarian dish so thanks for letting me know. I like the mushroom masalas generally :) (which I don't see on the menu anyway)

You know if I ever win the lottery or get back to the old days of making good cash, I'm going to hire a cleaning person. < back to cleaning>

Does anyone know how to get mold out of tile grout? Bleach aint doin' it.

I use CLR, but mine isn't so much mold as some other buildups from the water.

If you plan on using the MTR, get an Octopus card. Its a rechargeable debit card that works on the MTR, some fast food places and even some vending machines. I love the MTR and take it over a cab anywhere I can. You get the card at any MTR station; just watch the other riders on how to use it.

The MTR is busy during rush hour, but not Tokyo subway busy.

Though, you do need to try the Star Ferry. A very fun way to cross the harbor on the cheap. There is a computer mall across from the Kowloon Star Ferry terminal; though there is a better computer mall in Causeway Bay.

The Japanese department stores near Times Square are pretty cool, make sure to visit the basement to see the food! If you're there at opening, they do a little ceremony that includes marching sales girls.

baglady and I always try to see a movie - you get to pick your own seats! The AMC at Pacific Place has a wine bar. You can get the popcorn in salty or sweet.

Avoid the HK Cultural Center and Victoria Park on Sunday as that's where all of the off-duty maids mill about making traffic/crowding very .

rolov mentioned a bunch of things to try as did sbm12.

I have four or five of those "darn free weekend" nights and will not be able to use most of them before Sept 30.

Any ideas?

Sigh, stuck in T3 at SFO with no access to either RCC or Admirals Club. And I really don't want to clear out of security to go over to T1 for PC or Crown. /whine.

:D

Someone take pity and just put a bullet in the back of my head. The concept of family gatherings is an awful and pointless exercise. I'm an only child who does not deal with extended family except at weddings and funerals, and I'm perfectly happy with that.

When will Nihilism come back into fashion??

Are they transferable? We could, perhaps, arrange a barter of sorts. ;)

These people have no personal lives to speak of and no good travel stories...fishing on a lake in Maine...I mentioned that I went to AMS and it sailed over their collective heads.

I am not a lot of help because I don't get adventurous. I will tell you to go Seibu (downstairs) to pick up snacks, etc. for non club provisionals. The AMC by the Conrad (though a bit of a walk) is by far my favorite theatre and is the one we've spoke of. It's the one you choose seats, has the wine bar, provides blankets, has nice snacks such as an olive mix, etc.

And now ladies and gentlemen: the obligatory crying toddlers.

And I'm sorry, when are you going? If it's race season, the horse races are fun. I've gone 2 or 3 times and it's always been a great time. I've been in the member or box seats so it's probably been a bit more fun and the food has been quite good. I've bet quite small while my hosts have bet around $100,000 hk per race, yes I found myself rather small potatoes. But fun!

Ladies market, night market, stanley market (I went once, it was fun, not sure I would go again).
