This is the best deal I have ever seen on a Q-UP from a cpm basis. There was one XNA-LAX (or maybe ONT) last year in the same general price-range, but the routings weren't near as lucrative, and involved a lot of equipment without F or ExPlus.

Yep, you're right. Even a direct routing like I did some of mine, e.g. MSP-DEN-GEG and return is $0.03 per EQM. Terrific in my book.

This is dangerous - I just bought a 3rd. Good thing DTW-EWR boarding starts in 20 minutes.

Nah, not at that price and refundable to boot.

I have encountered a couple in non-corporate settings that are great but they seem to be few and far between.

I just did my daily routine of checking my UA flights booked through our travel agent and putting myself back in the seats I want, not the seats the travel agent's reservation system wants to put me in. This only seems to happen with UA, and only on UA flights booked through our travel agent. It gets really, really old. And when I've complained to them about it they had no idea what I was talking about, or why I would want to pick a different seat. The really bad thing is that usually their system wants to jerk me out of E+ and stick me in E-.

And don't get me started on how they "save us money." Lately I've found at least half a dozen cases where CO was offering better fares on its website for the same flights, and usually at least $250 cheaper (one case it was close to $500 cheaper). Plus, we have to pay a silly $20 booking fee for the travel agent to issue the ticket for the reservation I can make myself online.

And yes, there are good travel agents out there. But I've yet to encounter them in corporate sector where they tend to just be bottom feeding travel policy enforcement nazis interested far more in their own bottom line than providing a worthwhile service, or generating the cost savings they claim to give us.

Now to enter all these flights into my outlook.

You must have cross checked a flight attendant.

AMF in NJ Aug 26, 2009 2:49 pm

Do you have to be elite to Q-up?

No. They are instant-upgrade Y fares available to anyone.

Thanks to whoever just sent me a text regarding the MSP-GEG Q-UP ^

On 10/3-10/4 I am doing:
MSP-CLT-ORD-SEA-GEG; GEG-SFO-CLT-MSP (22,716 BD mi, due to 2 Y segments)

and on 10/17-10/18 I am doing:
MSP-CLT-DFW-DEN-GEG; GEG-SFO-CLT-MSP (22,265 BD mi.)

That's 2009/10 Gold Requal Taken Care of. :D :D :D

I think I may just go ahead and book another, just to get a head-start on 625% earnings for 2010. :D

This stuff is addicting, I was trying to stay off it last night but I may just have to go ahead and make the plunge.

FT be dammed!! :)

Very well written. I've actually read some of your uncles writings before, not even realizing his connection to you.
