This new annual thread has been carved out of the previous thread in an effort to reduce the number of megathreads on the AC forum. For those interested previous versions are the original 2004 - 2014 thread , 2015 edition, 2016 edition , 2017 edition, 2018 edition and 2019 edition.
The original thread started by accident but quickly became a popular place to come and discuss off topic things such as hockey, new movies, or almost anything that wouldn't fit into existing AC forum threads. Air Canada or Aeroplan topics such as flight feedback, in-flight services issues, status or mileage earning/redemption are all topics that should go into existing AC forum threads so others can benefit from this information. Topics about hotels or airlines and/or their loyalty programs, destinations, in-flight travel tech. or anything best discussed elsewhere on FT may be relocated to that forum as this thread isn't meant to import travel topics to this forum that are better discussed on other forums. FT is an amazingly diverse and large community so members are encouraged to seek out all of its resources.
While the conversation is more relaxed as it would be in a lounge that doesn't mean however that the FT rules don't apply here as they definitely do so please refrain from controversial topics such as politics or religion, avoid profanities and treat other lounge patrons with the same respect you expect.

They were both awesome. I think only one of these wines is something I'd be willing to buy, but it was a good way to spend the last hour and three quarters.
Ugh.
For those who didn't see it live, the pizza showed up like this:

At least it was the bovine's, not mine

Hey, delivering pizza in San Francisco isn't without its ups and downs (and gravity).

Hello all - man I had some catching up to do with 24 hour shifts 2 of the last 4 days.
THx Cow, that pizza pic made me laugh out loud. It is screaming, "I may be weakened, but I will burn you from the inside out! " and the only thing that would make it more tempting was if they added a bit of Chorizo. OTOH, loved your dinner samplers, but my only problem with your 2 meals is 6 cheeses and not one single blue?
We had the "baby" Anotonov come here some years ago - the 124 - and that was pretty impressive to see.
If folks are seriously considering an OUT THERE get together, the upper Vancouver Island is definitely the place to aim for even if it means charters for the last hop. There are some great lodges that are used to catering to discerning tastes in food (and scotch) with scenery that is beyond compare.

Please do not reply to the next part because it's airline-related but not so much in this context and I don't want it deleted:
-------
I've generally preferred the AC J cheese tray out of Canada to the return flights, and even over what I get in most F cabins.
-------
But the cheese I get at Ungrafted is just so good. It goes well with the wine, and I love it. Next week is Northeast France I believe, so maybe there will be some blue cheese. But I hope not

How difficult are some of these places to get in and out of in the winter? For instance, I know flights to/from YCG are frequently cancelled due to weather. I don't think any of us wants to run a high risk of getting stuck in one of these places, so I was thinking more summer/fall/spring.

I'm not a fan of blue, and I'm also not the one picking the cheees. Nor should I be. This place is run by a female (apparently there's only 27 of them or I wouldn't use the adjective) Master Sommelier and an Advanced Sommelier, so I trust their judgement.

Weather is always an issue of course but Smithers is much better than Castlegar in that regard. In truth when it comes to weather, I have had the most delays connecting via SFO but much of my travel is up and down the left coast. I find SJC much more reliable when SJ/SF is my destination or origin. Cow could certainly chime in. SFO is the nicer airport though, and for sure I wouldn't want to spend a day stranded in YYD.
I have no expertise in the field, but find that blue cheeses and peaty scotch sensitivities tend to run together. Regardless, I am jealous looking at those repasts and would gladly enjoy the experience again. I do really enjoy a true charcuterie and cheese sampling menu and the last similar to yours would have been at the Del in San Diego a few years ago.

To be fair to Papa John, they sent a replacement later. Though the guy on the phone didn't seem to believe me (how could that happen to one pizza but not both) and also tried to blame me (well you asked for extra sauce and that makes it more slippery). In the end, they just required we give back the entire pizza to get the replacement.
I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad about this outcome.
